new use of auto-clicker

Ok, vety borderline subject, but I just got pissed off.

Got home, logged on to pe, had a hunt, returned to argus, had to go to the toilett and make breakfast. When I got back, I was logged off. Logged on again, hunted some more. Girlfriend wanted some help with the laundry, and I had a cigarett right after that. Logged off.

so now I’m wondering if I should install an autoclicker with timer on 9 minutes just so I won’t get logged off every time I have to do something. Would you think of this as good or bad use of an autoclicker?

Just walk into a wall or something, maybe…?

would work as long as you are in a town, a little bit worse if you are in a team that is protecting you (something that happens a lot in our soc)

installing an autoclicker to be able to be afk for more than 10 minutes would kinda defeat the purpose of putting the time limit in there
Idling players were clogging up the servers too much so they did it to increase performance. Are you really in that much of a hurry that you can’t spend 10 seconds logging in after 10+ minutes of being afk?

Eh? You are team hunting and then someone says “ill be back in 20 min” and everyone stays still defending the afk one?

Well. 10 min time limit is a bit annoying for those that happen to need to do things. I mean what’s the point of the AFK posture anymore?

Also since the team list isn’t all that stable… Getting kicked off and not seeing a team list as the leader would suck. Maybe MA should up it to 30 min Idle limit. I mean, I can understand someone being away for 10 mins but not 30+.

An yeah… Logging in is a bit of a pain just cause you decided to step away for a few minutes to do something. :tiphat:

:twocents:

and u get to wonder if this auto log-off really is having a noticable increase on impact..
lets say that 100 players are idling.. ´dont think that say 50 of those persons logging in abut the same time again would take more performance on servers than 100 players idling ? It might not works this way at all. nevertheless a fun thought thou :stuck_out_tongue:

We’ll just have to hope MA knows what they’re talking about

More or less like “Hey, I have to pee and have a cigg, brbasap” if it takes more than 10 minutes, they alweays wait, or hunt the surroundings.

My point is that 10 minutes is a very short timespan. making a cup of coffee is about 3 minutes, tea is even more. 20 would be better. I can’t see how people logging inn and out is going to reduce so much server-powered compared to a character that stands there, doing nothing, was standing there for 10 minutes, computer knows it, so stops calculating it for the next few cycles. If it is programmed in a good way that is

I don’t see the problem with it. If you are away for 10 minutes just log back in right? What is the hardship here :dunno:

wow- now there’s a great idea! Why didn’t I think of that :girl:

Dunno if they fixed it but you can actually follow yourself.

You might try if you get disconnected when doing that

Would you like to relog to the forum here every time you had to do something?

The hardship is missing info from soc-chat/team-chat, the team-bugs etc. There are lots of reasons not to get logged off.

But anywho, now someone came up with a good solution, so I don’t need an autoclicker. Problem solved  Props to Rex for that one (or, to his wife)

well your right about the teamchat thing, that you have to rejoin everytime you log out…

But, yeah wouldnt be to hard to get logged out from a forum if you could join in with one click on the enter again as in PE…

I’m actually surprised that there are people who log into PE, then walk off for an hour and then come back and continue playing. Call me naive.

I’ve actually logged out of the game to answer the front door before now, as I have no idea who it may be or how long I’ll be afk for.

It’s only one mouse click to log back in, and only a little harder for those of us with goldcards. I’m afraid I really dont see the problem. You may miss a few lines of soc chat, but if you had any decency youd announce your afk’ness before you left the keyboard, so any chat there wouldnt be directed at you anyway. I cant hear what people say when I walk in a room, and when I return people will tell me if I missed anything important.

Anyway, that’s just my opinion. Forced logoff is right and propper, if it’s annoying you then find a way to work around your annoyance rather than imaginative methods for bypassing the logout.

Should the extra load caused by people logging in and out actually outweigh the load caused by people staying in, then MA will undoubtedly revoke the forced logout, or extend the timer. Until then, this is what they want, so is’nt discussing ways to bypass it rather… well… bad?

Well said Dirk  It isn’t hard to log back in so what is the big deal here

Heya.

The follow a teammember is the best teamsollution i think annyway.
Its only because i hate to log on back & look around for my teammembers.

But otherwise also a Goldcard is no reason. put in the few numbers isnt a reson to stay online.

More critical in this point for me is the fackt of no delivered PMs while iam Ofline. Dont know if the Ghost PM is fixed. (Ghost PM = You are online on the friendslist of a friend while youre ofline) Very frustrating to PM a friend who is ofline lol

It’s been suggested b4… but I would REALLY like to have an inbox in this game, esp now that the chat system has been updated :wise:
