I’m not the one to complain but I have to wonder about the new auction fee system. As you might know by now the system uses “A regressive markup commission beginning at 5%”. This means that something sold for 1 ped maruk yields roughly 0,55 ped fee and something on 100 ped markup yields a 5.26 ped fee.
Is this just another way for MA to drain the peds from players? After all an item selling for tt+1k now gives MA 50 peds from the previous 1 ped. Following the same lines would this not imply that all items sold on the acution will now cost some 5% more?
Is this a way for MA to fight resellers or is it a way to incress the peds to MA?
Will the 5% markup increse lead to more ppl selling their items on the street wich in turn increese the lag in towns and spams the public chat?
As I see it the benefits of this system is that it’s easier and slightly more profitable to sell low markup items on the auction then it was before. The downside is that it will cost 5% extra to sell higher markup items. Anoter side of this is I think the amount of dumb auctions (opalo for tt+100 and the likes) will increease alot due to the fact that if the item ain’t sold it now only cost 0.5 ped.
from what i’ve read about it, its supposed to help deter reselling. Also, I like to think that the peds from auction fee’s go back into the loot system :dunce:
First of all, wrong forum, but I guess a mod will move it.
Second, trying to sell an opalo will cost you 0.50 ped + 2 ped (5% of markup) when you create the auction.
The extra cost for all items which will sell in auction is not 5%, but 10%.
If you list a 10ped TT mk2 for 50 ped and it sells for 80 ped, then the total cost for this auction will be:
0.50 ped + (5% * 40 ped) + (5% * 30 ped) = 4 ped.
Imo this indeed leads to more sales on the streets and an overall increase in item price.
what will happen to the lyst and oil that is most sold on auction the 5% kills the markup so we can better tt it now or miners pay heavy fee for something thats almost tt ?

You pay 5% over the markup. That means if the markup is less 10 ped (about 100 ped lyst) the total fee will be less then it is now, and the markup is more then 10 ped, then the fee will also be more.
so it seems selling junk with low tt and low tt+ in auction is now cheaper. selling high tt stuff/high tt+ will cost alot more.
this will lead to: only junk in auctions, hardly any big batches of ores/enmat, better stuff sells on streets or shops = more hassle to find an item, market prices get mroe volatile due to the lack of reference prices for auction tracker sites.
