My First Disciple

I just took on my first disciple yesterday!

I ran across him in PA, asking for advice and tips on the game. Sadly, (probably because it was so busy), he wasn’t getting a lot of help. Luckily for both of us, one of his requests was to ask for a mentor - and he didn’t get swarmed with bogus ME-item hogging wannabes.

So I made the offer. I started out by showing him around some TPs, and giving a few tips on the basics of the game. Don’t beg was a big one

He seems reasonably self-sufficient - after I logged out last night, he somehow scared up 22 PED (not by begging, I hope!) and plans to deposit fairly soon. He seems pretty interested in the game and in progressing in his skills.

I’ve looted some goblin shins and a couple axes that need repair - I was thinking of giving those to him to help him get started. A little leg-up, but not quite a freebie, since he still has to repair them.

It’s a bit odd for me - especially since I never had a “mentor” in the game. I hope I’ll do a good job as his mentor. Feel free to tell me if you think I’m screwing up!

BTW, say ‘hi’ if you meet him: his name is Zoro ‘Mr. Bushido’ Roronoa.

I’ll definetly say hi if I see him.
What I usually do is give my disciple/s all my hides/wool for TT+0, I am too lazy to sell and instead of it just going to the TT it’s much better for them to make a little easy money with a little work.
That’s just me though, I am lazy. :tongue2:
Giving him an item sounds like a good idea, esspecially if it’s spontanious and unasked for. It feels much nicer to give an item like that than to give one when you’re begged and I would think your disciple would feel the same way.
Sounds like you’re doing a good job… it is a weird feeling though - even if you have had a mentor.

Well, i also have 2 disciples. One of them is my classmate and neighbour (who sadly doesn’t play very much) and the other one is just someone i don’t know irl. I think that he will do better, than my neigbour. For starters i teached him ( in game her) some basics of mining and gave him 40 probes. Then i gave him an assignment to discover all TP-s on Eudoria, and after that i gave him another 40 probes. From now on he will have to get by himself. I think he’ll do just fine.

Thanks -

If he begged, I would kick him in a second. That’s something I just can’t stomach.

I don’t mind helping out a bit with looted stuff. And with all the axes I looted yesterday, well - I had to do SOMETHING with them!

Thanks for the vote of confidence. We had a good time hunting down some more TPs’ tonight. Although a couple of Armax bulls tried to spoil it

aw gratz on getting your first Disciple

Sounds like you’ve found someone good there … I wish you both all the best for graduation

it is always nice to find new ppl who are interested in joining PE and it’s wonderful community, it is even more delightful ← nice word  to see mentors who are in willing to mentor with their heart and not their greedymind…

gl to both of ya :kos:
