I am a complete newbie and I just need you to take part
in my joy. I have been hunting for some days now, say,
2-3 hours each. Today I killed a SnarkShot (Mature, I
guess) with my Sollomate Opalo and got a loot of
1.15 PED. I mean, this is not much, but it is such a
great success for me.
I am so very happy!!! Actually, I am overflowed with
joy.
went hunting once with just a pixie harness and jester (was really noobtastic then… :
-first mob had nothing
-second mob (snable M) had pixie thighs!!!
-third (bery) had 1.76 ped!!
That was my second hunt! I was SOOOO happy too! lol
Congrats, and I ALMOST had my first PED also. Was about 12 PEC short But I did get the 88 PEC and a set of Goblin Armor thigh-guards (F) with it LOL :silly2:
Congrats! Wait until you get your first 50+ and you’ll get global I still remember the feeling I had when I got my first 20 ped something loot, with some shogun arm guards in. I think I had been playing for 2-3 weeks. I miss that alot.
heh, that is a little milestone. Do enjoy it while it lasts.
It wont be too long til 1 ped in loot seems dissappointing.
where you think to yourself “1 ped!! thats all? oh well better than a no looter, toobad it cost me 3 ped to kill it”
the other milestones will be just an enjoyable too.
Like the first time you get an item in loot (not paint, hides or wool) an item like a gun or a piece of armor.
Then there will be the the mile stone of actually getting a usefual item in loot like a GSI (Generic Skill Implant) or an armor piece/weapon you actually want and can use.
Then there is the really special ones like your first global and first HoF, both solo and in a team.
The time you kill one of the huge monsters that kick you butt now and are a plague to you at this stage of PE experience (i remember how thrilling it was for me to kill my first atrox, and then the first atrox provider)
Then there is the unlockable skills. you will be excited for each one you unlock.
Your off to a good start keep it up.
I hope you keep this wonder and excitement of PE and that you get to experience many more firsts, you have alot to look forward to
ya, i remember my first 16 pedder from a berry, i swear, loots were better back then, i hardly had to deposit, now 100 usd might last me a few days in ammo.
i remember my first global, how it made me profit a little bit, now if i get a 50 pedder, im still down 200 ped on a 500 ped hunt.
i still havent looted an armor peice ive used, or weapon, well, i did loot a vanguard bout a month ago, and i used it for about 2 days, then went back to my normal gun, now i just use my v1 till i can afford an adj v1.
i do like to unlock skills, but after all this shooting i do, i only managed to unlock mms and rda. i guess i shoulda stuck to 1 weapon instead of LB, rifle, and handgun.
ah shit, this is getting depressing,
gratz anyways
edit – na, i dont think newbies are our future, all the ones i seem to talk to have no intention of depositing, and only ask how much money they can make without depositing
It wasn’t too long ago for me… and I’m still waiting on my first global .
Advice: Get yourself a good mentor, but be very careful, don’t accept the first person that comes along and asks if you need one. Check them out first, as once they get you as a disciple, you can’t leave without them releasing you.
Societies are not the same, you can leave them if you don’t like them, but I would still recommend you get comfortable with the people (especially the leaders) before you select a soc to try out for.
I’m a bit of a free lancer by nature, I like to help people, but I’m not too keen on the “clan slave” mentality of some societies (re: World Of Warcraft type clans with high demands on your time). That said, I believe there is a clan, er, soc that is a good fit to me. It helps that a good friend of mine has joined it, and her mentor is in it… They are a relatively quiet bunch, that at least appear to be more of a support group than a “force de jour” – manipulating everything possible.
Find a soc that fits your style, and make friends (both in and out of your soc), but do not blindly trust anyone, even your soc mates.
This isn’t about being synical, it’s about maintaining a pleasant experience.
Deo-- I have to say you are wrong about that. I do see ones like me as the future. Even though people ask that, dosent mean that is how it will happen. Just from what I have done I have noticed that I will have to do a few more deposits before I could even break even in game. And besides, even if they dont, does that make them NOT the future? Never judge the whole by a part of the equation. :wise:
Traf-- I have Rex as my mentor and I have totally bombarded him with questions and he has completely answered them all and then some. So ya, finding a good mentor is COMPLETELY worth it.
