My arrival at EF, a shocker

Hello, it is with the biggest devestation i now write this little text.
I have been running around a lot in PE, meeting a bunch of what i now like to call avatars, i am shocked, and moments away from weeping.

A 20yr old guy, a little boy still not Grand Master in his hormones, is presented a link to a forum, EntropiaForum.

From the good experiences i have had at EP’s forums, this suprised me even more, a form of cleaness, if that is a word… Well, one thing that has fascinated me is the conversations one can have in general over the interett, when you dont see the person, but can only try to read its mind, its thoughts and its opinions when not clearly stated. And more specific, the ever so true tale of behavior, how one should present himself towards the other sex, in this case the female sex. You know, acting polite, perhaps even adjust the way a sentance is presented, perhaps a little cute remark, just because you ‘think’ the person you are chatting away with is from the sex witch fascinates me ohh so much, the female.

Yes, because it is right now, i have realized the scam i have been put uppon, and it is all your fault EF, one little function, one little table in a vast amount of programming code: Gender Reallife: and Ingame:

This has put me with a blushing face, and i can do nothing else then buy myself a christmas mask to walk around with. The people you once thought were female, are suddenly presented in the most opposite way there is, a textphrase, a naked line of text: Gender Reallife: Male Ingame: Female

Just another one of my embarresing moments in life i am sure.

From now on you might find me chatting endlessly with the Umbranoids (F), or even the female Technicians. Atleast they wont choose their sex because of cheaper armour prices.

I have friends that are male is real life but in PE use female avatars, I still find myself treating them differently than I do male avatars.
I guess I’m just hardwired that way. Weirded me out the first time I smacked around a soc mate’s F avatar in the octatagon. I find the sound of a feminine gasp of pain is just a bit disconcerting.

Yup, got collared on that one when I started in PE a long time ago. I used to trade a lot with a female avatar and as we got more familiar, I used the term ‘hun’ in the conversation a lot.

Wasn’t till a while later I found out, at least ‘hun’ was the only thing I did but I can imagine the embarassment some of the embarrassment some people may have had. All good fun really.

yes, its quite odd how that works… i, too, find myself more than marginally unwilling to ruthlessly berate women, even in VR…

“hun” is probably the ONE word i dont use lol… but thats AFTER im damned sure what gender they are :smiley: (i dont mean asking… you can tell a woman or man just by the way they speak and act, if you know them well enough…)

i think it’s a real shame that guys would choose girl avatars, or girls would choose guy avatars. it really tells you something about those people; not necessarily that they’re gay but tthey would be willing to manipulate people like that. make a sexy girl avatar to get that extra couple ped when they sell something.

But then again, the people who do it for the first time might not do it to make peds, right? Or to be able to buy cheaper armor, sicne most dont know about that before they enter PE. Maybe they just need something good to look at? :slight_smile:
I know alot of guys with girl avatars, as long as they dont use it to get stuff I dont mind them having it whatsoever.. :slight_smile:

I’ve actually thought more about the female on male avatars. If you think about it, most females wont be successful no matter what, I’m not saying NONE are, but as some can see the a majority of people profiting here are males, and yes some on female avatars. I don’t mind them doing that, not the slightest, but I myself have thought about the female on a male avatar. It seems in this world, people judge males with more power and respect, I don’t enjoy running around the way I do in my own house (basically underwear because its so damn hot) and being hooted and hollered at. I think if I had a male, it would be differant. But, one last thing - MindArk themselves have shown it in interest for all people to have female avatars, look at the variety of clothing avaliable to them and the lack in male..also the noises made as well as one perticular fap. If you know anything, you know what 69 is, lol and in that fap’s description is says ‘the vixens from the cK society’ which most of us should know are male on avatars who are short with big ass boobs… but I suppose its not all to make money in the end, maybe some is for respect, and some to give those damn horny gamermales something to look at. I’m not complaining, I mean, its better then them harrassing me *remembers those short ugly men in PA :rolleyes: *

Well, cant agree there Manda… the ones profitting from this game are smart and have a head for business.. whether they be male or female, doesnt matter.

Let’s face it.. when it comes to business, even men will tell you that women are more ruthless and willing to step all over you to get what they want :wink:

Dont put us gamer chicks down so much! I dont play to profit, I play for fun. If I wanted to I could profit quite easily… it takes time, lots of patience and a smart cookie… and judging from some of the female gamers on here I think there are a few of us who could.

hmm well I do understand your points on harassing and such Manda, but then again such behaviour shouldnt keep you from beeing successfull -thats a personal thing, not everybody elses. And its another thing too, successfull doesnt have to be in skills :wink: You can be successful as a trader or as a social butterfly (can anyone say: “connections?” :P)

These make me always wonder if I speak so differently to people depending on their real gender… hmm.. not maybe too well applicaple to me. Well anyways…

Fact is that there are guys who are very bothered because there are guys playing female avatars and then there are guys who dont care. Maybe it depends on what are that guys personal motives to speak to girls? :wink:

My motives in PE is to get skills, so i can impress the girls and eventually marry them. I think that’s the way Marco wants it.

This maybe completely off topic but hey. They story begins when I was at school and the only ever, and I mean EVER, debate we where allowed to have was. ‘Which is the stronger sex’. It was always started by the girls as well. Now this could be argued endlessly but I am gonna goto proven facts.

Men:
The highest % of top end professional are men. Its a large percent. However there is one reasonf or this. Men have a one track mind. It has been proven scientificailly that men can specailise to a higher degree because they have this one track mind. However try to get them to walk and chew at the same time is a different story and they will mess it up completely.

Women:
Women are multitaskers, its how there brain is wired up. They have to be, have to juggle children, cooking, cleaning, picking up the men when they try and walk and chew at the same time. Unfortuantly this ability to multitask means they cannot specailise as highly.

So what does this prove?
Nothing! men are better at some things where as women are better at others. (again with all general rules its not strictly true but in general)

Which sex is going to be most successful? - well both one thrieves on the other. (to quote an idiot from my school days. “Women don’t need men, we can goto sperm banks!” Where they get it from is a mystery ;))

As for in the online world.
Many will use the fact that its a largely male dominated market to thier advantage. I have seen this from the downright disturbing and criminal to the harmless ‘well less women = more female excess stock = cheaper’.

Is it wrong for a male to play a female?
I don’t think so. After all its a game and as soon as it gets personal your no longer playing. Before that happens it should have been made clear.

I don’t understand that in a world of vertexs and pixels that a female can flash her body and get the men to do her every bidding… if you want some porn all you gotta do is google for it!

Anyways, I need some food.
