Mob Damage List

I have been looking at the Mob Damage List on the https://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/ top page.

I have noticed a pattern which I am sure everyone knows about  .. but just in case here is my cunning theory anyway. :wise:

Mobs provide various types of damage which can be a selection of Stab, Cut and Impact and occasionally Acid or Electrical. The specifications of armour give their protection values for all or some of the above damages.

Using the Mob Damage List it seems that the damage provided for a particular armour is as follows:

Damage = damage w/o armour – (stab + cut + impact + acid + electrical protection)

So to calculate the damage for your armour from a particular mob all you need is the damage without armour (can be found by going up to a mob nude and thumbing your nose at it), the type of damage the mob causes and the stats for your armour.

e.g. the damage from an Argonaut Guardian against Knight Armour would be
40 – (0+12+12+0+0) = 16
where the Argonaut causes cut and impact damage. You can see that the stab protection does not help as the mob does not cause that type of damage and that Knight does not have any acid or electrical protection.

This assumes that the armour is in good condition. I have yet to find out what happens if the armour is of mixed type. Damage is never less than 1.

Also there is penetration, burn and shrapnel to take into account for robots.

To get you started here is the provisional calculated damage types of a number of mob. The damage includes these but may not be limited to them. Please check, if you can.

The challenge now is for someone to bring out a program to take mob and armour and return damage per hit J

Many thanks to the author of the Mob Damage List

wow nice work

i have always thought of allos doing only electrical damage, so i was a bit surprised that rascal protected a bit against them :stuck_out_tongue:

Nice work! I’m glad my list is helping you  Some Rep for you on this one

I started this thing before Christmas. My list is here. It’s not completely finished, because I don’t have any data about cold, acid and electric damage. Most of the data I got from Faustians list, although still there are some errors.

Is that what you have in mind ?

It’s a little software that take a mob and an armour and then, list the damage done by each subtypes of the mob on the armor. The source are included in the rar archive so, you can take a look (and rebuild the exe if you don’t trust mine).

Actually, i’ve enter only the data for about all the armors but i’ve only enter stats for aetherex, ambu and argonaut for the mobs. Moreover, the formula i use to compute the damage done is not completly accurate. But i think i’ve already found the answer to this problem.

You’ll need the Microsoft .Net Framework (if it’s not already installed on your computer).

Never trust a formula to calculate dmg! Always use full armor set being fully repaired :wise:
My list has been created from actual players taking direct hits from each mob, no formula’s I will not allow them.

The damage displayed are, of course, calculated for armors fully repaired

As for the formula, in fact, it’s just a analysis of your damage list. As Counsellor777 has begun to do it in his excel sheet, I’m just taking the differents values you’ve tested and I try to determine the amount of damage for each type of damage ingame (stab/cut/impact/…). So, in fact, the real thing are the data (which are contains in XML files bassically) and the computing is just an addition or a substraction

Atm, I took the idea of Counsellor777 to add the protection of the armor and substract it to the damage made by the mob without armor. It seems to be right for most of the case but, sometimes, it’s not (like for argo with vigi). So, I’ll just try to precise a little more your damage list. Instead of just taking the total amount of damage, I’ll take each damage type separately and compute the value for each type.

But, well, if you don’t want me to use your work like this, you just have to say it

You dont’ know MA very well do you? :wise:
You will find out for your self
But I hope my list helps you in your endeavors

very VERY helpfull list! thank you for that

hmm u sure beryckled only do impact ? kinda wierd when u look at the creature seems it sould also do stab dmg

but then again ma has always been kinda wierd :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh well, didn’t notice there was a chart about this here, thought I was the only one working on this

I just hope the guy didn’t actually copy my own work results. j/k

Adding some with the approximate % for each type :
Allophyl - Impact 1/3, Electric 2/3
Araneatrox - Anyone can test it since damage doesn’t depend on max HP anymore
Argonaut - Cut 1/3, Impact 2/3
Armax - Stab 50%, Impact 50%
Atrax - Cut 1/3, Stab 1/3, Impact 1/3
Atrox - Cut 1/3, Stab 1/3, Impact 1/3
Biffoid - Cut 50%, Impact 50%
Bristlehog - Electric 100%
Combibo - Cut 40%, Impact 60%
Daikiba - Impact 100%
Drone - Penetration 30%, Burn 70%
Faucervix - Cut 25%, Impact 75%
Feffoid - Impact 35%, Cold 65%
Formicacida - Cut + Impact
Fungoid - Acid 100%
Merp - Stab 40%, Impact 60%
Molisk - Cut 1/3, Impact 2/3
Scaboreas - Impact 100%
Second Entity - Stab + Cut + Impact
SnarkSnot - Impact 100%
Thorifoid - Mindforce 100%
Tantardion - Impact 100%
Trooper - Penetration 30%, Burn 70%
Umbranoid - Stab + Cut
Warrior - Penetration + Burn or Cut + Impact (depends on range)

:wise: These are from VU 7.0 (topic created on February 18th on Alchemic Dream) and may have changed. Snablesnots are known to have a new set of damage.

And, yes, thanks again to Faustian for his helpful Mob Damage List

No, I didn’t copy, I used Faustians list.

Biffoid - Cut 50%, Impact 50%

Scavengers, scouts and bandits do only impact. Atroxes, cornundacaudas and faucervixs do different damage types too.

Thorifoid - Mindforce 100%

Mind-what?

Unfortunately Alchemic Dream website is down. Are you sure about cold, acid and electric damages? I wanted to put those monsters in my chart too, but didn’t know what damage types they do and can’t afford those armours.

I dunno if there is a bugg with snablesnot F but last time I was about to skill evade on em my pixie didnt help at all  maybe they are only doing acid now..? anyone else noticed this?

Damage types for Snablesnots (at least) are now different in VU 7.1 :frowning:

Pretty sure about most damage types Helmars, unless they changed as well… Guess we’ll have to check everything again.

EDIT : AD has moved, the guide is now located here. Feel free to share what you know and/or report any mistake

If you guys see a mistake and have tested it your self, let me know I will change it.
No calculations please, only legitimate tests with actual armor or no armor. Atleast a few times to make sure it’s acurate

Second Entities does Burn and Pene, 1/2 - 1/2.

Didn’t know they were ranged
Thanks.

I’m asking for help. I have not recieved any new dmg’s in quit a while now. If anyone out there hunting has the time please take a moment to jot down your dmg’s and send them to me please

I’m confused. Which file is the program? How do we add more data to it?

[/QUOTE]

The program itself is the only exe file contained in the directory (bin\Debug\MobDamage.exe). As for the data, in the same directory, you’ll find two XML Files: one for the armor, one for the mob. You can open them with a text editor and take a look at how they’re organized. If you want to add data to them, you just have to respect the organization of the tags i use. Hint: if you want to check the syntax of the file, you can open it with IE and see if it’s displayed. If there’s any error, IE won’t display the content but the error instead. If you’ve any questions, feel free to ask them

Note: Actually, i’m working on other projects so, this one has been sleeping and will still remain in that state for some times.

And Welcome here
