So I was mining, and it appeared to me, on more logical locations, that mining on hills seemed to hit more often then on flat spaces. I wonder if there is any credibility to this? If I’m just daydreaming? I don’t know. Urban Legends avast ye!
well mr, if u eyeball those latest ATH screenies from mining, u see no mountains whatsoever

I have hit desposits on sand and under water…
also under buildings in towns :mad:
I also only had 1.35 PED, so I decided, what the hell, I missed mining. So I grabbed a 1 PED bomb, went out to where someone I know HoF’ed and I dropped one bomb, not expecting a return, and I hit a modest lyst deposit for 5.39 PED . Not too shabby, a 439% increase in my original investment.
So yeah, if you ever feel lucky, just get one bomb. Like me. And if you “know” like I do that there has to be mineral under the ground you’re standing on, just drop it in good faith.

One reason I can think that mining might sometimes be better on hills/mountains etc is that ‘lazy’ avatars can’t be bothered to climb up the steep slopes so these places get less traffic, therefore there is less chance that they have been recently mined out!
deffinitely not. it has no importance if it is sand, water, mountains, plain, hills or whatever.
tho, can be of importance the accesibility and the frequency of visits. if u find an area infested with mobs (like 30 mobs or more in one radar) might worth try mining. after killing the beasts 
also, two days ago i had 2 deposits (modest and poor) right near the tp at camp echidna or a plentiful at 50 m distance from the wall of fort troy, near turret.
it must be a regular area of orespawn and must be unvisited for a long time.
The place I used to mine all the time didnt look like it should hold much.
I used to think I would hit sweetstuff mining for enmatter on places with the same colors as it, but alas, I never got lucky.
So…no.
Ive notice that it doesnt matter if I bomb on a hill or not and the area doesnt really matter. But one thing is that there is always special places that are infested with depos and other with nothing in it. So if you find a good mining place, keep it, mine there and try that place later some time because depos grow back. Once I was mining in one of my places and I didnt get so much there. But after awhile I decided to return and then I saw another avatar there that mined, he got a considerable there. Either it was our skilldifferent or tools or it had spawn there later, so maybe depos spawn randomly at an special area.
