There have been many complaints about the past “events” MA has introduced being geared for the ubers and impossible for a midlevel player to win, and totally untouchable for a newcomer. I agree and here is a thought on how it oculd possibly be fixed. Once again it is only a thought and just a template on which MA could base the next event. I think that when an event is announced there should be 3 brackets for the single event and the brackets separated by skill levels. I know I will catch a lot of heat for saying that, and yes there would have to be more to it than just separation by skill, but the events MA gives us could be really fun if everyone was able to participate (I say able because anyone can participate, but not compete with the better players). For example, while those Mutant Atrox were tearing apart the countryside, there should have also been some beefed up trax (mid level players) and snables (newcomers). And then instead of one 25000 ped loot, split it up this way: 15000, 7500, 2500. Then again this is just an example of how it could better be implemented.
It would be nice to have many levels of people being able to participate and have fun during an event.

I agree. The only event i have participated in was the bot hunt. And thats because i could take those. I had a lot of fun with that. In the trox event it was WAY over my head, the apt event I knew i had no chance of winning. And the winnder had Eon and Shadow on display. So i was right!
I think that a three bracket system with level limitations would work. When Slaves to the Machine do races at pheonix we always scan to insure that the person is noob and has no advantage. They need to do something like this. Where there is no way someone above the noob skill level etc can win.

“Mr. Wackt, an Earth citizen class one, was indeed killed by Calypso wildlife. We believe the attacker to be a band of so called Atroxes of a variety of maturity levels. The attackers seems to be afflicted by some sort of mutation though, however this cannot be seen when casually looking at the creatures.”

Problem with splitting the loot up like that is when an uber still gets the one in the snabble because it just happened to be in the way while he was hunting larger mobs. Then the complaining continues.
I thought of that too. Thats why I brought up the skills part being that sure, and uber can kill 1000 snables, but since his skills dont fall into the category for the snable hof, then he doesnt get it. Something like that. It was just a basic idea to build on.

an uber can create a new avatar, grab an adj v1 - adj fap (not exactly uber gear) and hunt snables consantly and very very fast…even a noob can do this just a bit slower, the thing is when so many people are applicable to join it’s just pure chance who will win, and honestly there won’t be enough snables in the area, a long range BLP user could clear his radar in under a minute, and with the new radar it would simply be a case of run up and down shooting and collect loots…the same with all noob contests, the lack of difficulty makes it pointless. I agree that this is a problem, but just making the contest easier for less skilled players doesn’t cut it.

I think Sper was saying that skills are the key to keeping every one where they belong. Sure the evil Uber could make a new avatar, arm his noobie with the best equipment and go on a snabble slaughter, but would it be worth all the trouble to get a much smaller prize? Dont’ think many would go to all the trouble IMO. Thought provoking however, Gurkha.
I think the skill based Reward system would be a great thing for future Events.
My experience with MA tells me MA wil not support custom event requests.
Has that changed.
I mean, it would be great to have that kind of events
Only thing i would not alow is that a Uber take his Newbie Avatar to fake with his Uber gears.
That is not the esence of the idea if a Uber takes the Newbie Reward.
(My personal opinion)
Well ,there is also the ability for MA to adapt the categories to levels of the weapons .
Every good weapon crafter can tell you that weapons are following levels as well as skills .
MindArk could and did build the new skill system on weapon categories .
Therefore they can do the same with this kind of event .But i feel like they are too lazy to make anything about that.
Exactly my point Francine, ty for the explaining it for me.
And BTW, snables was just an example. My point in this thread was to say that when an event comes along there should be levels of it that everyone can compete. And of course, the “ubers” get the big hofs, and the “newbies” get the smaller ones. This would also help bring more people into the game if they know that even as a new player they can participate in an event and get their own uber loot
Well it seems that MA has in some way slightly added this idea (brought back from a few weeks ago) with the spaceship thing. I am very glad to see this as midlevel players can take the smallest tt beacons and do a quest by themselves. +rep to MA, Im very happy about this. But I would still like to see a thing that lands in the clientloader that lets noobs, midlevel, and ubers hav a role in an event. Or maybe an event that forces noobs, midlevel and ubers to cooperate in a team or something to that effect. So many possibilities, I am like a kid in a candystore hehe
