Question: Are there currently any mentoring societies?
Suggestion: I might be interested in starting one that would accept people who would like to mentor others. There would probably be stipulations, rules, etc. of course to try cutting down on those that would become a mentor only so they could get stuff and not really help the noob. I would also like to expand it to the extent that I have the locations of all members and times they are on, and then be able to match up disciples with mentors and such. (Of course, this is all tentative and definately up for debate, questioning, change and the like).
Feedback: Is this a good idea? What are suggestions on how to run it? Why should I do, or not do, this?

YES! My soc has been doing the whole mentoring things since before there was even a mentor system. We actually have a Group Mentor Program where our disciples will have ONE officaial mentor but will add everyone in the group to there friendlist so we all share the responsibility. IT works well since the group live in many different time zones. and u were mean to me about suggesting my desciple joins a soc where she can learn from others aswell hehe
i agree completely that is a really good idea, could become quite an in depth soc tho but that is a good thing if u are prepared to go that far, but still i like the idea and wouldnt mind helping you out with that
