Ok been in PE for a bit, and I am lost at how to do basic things.. Like send a tell to a person who isnt in front of me (can we do that), I keep asking questions here, and someone (rather causticly) told me to read the manual. This would be all well and good, but I cant seem to find it. Anyone want to clue me in on where I can DL it?
The manual can be found in the Client Loader. Login to that and not the game and click on Help. It opens a PDF file that you can save and print if you want.

Don’t bother. It is very old and… well just too old. Far too much has changed since then. For one thing, the interface is so customisable that you really need a specific answer based on your settings. Post all your questions, and someone will answer them 
i am sure its old, but i’m sure you can learn something by reading it. i am still interested in having it emailed if anyone could.
The main problem is that you will learn things wrong, and have to re-learn them correctly.
Well My main questions are what can you do in chat, and what are the shortcut keys (if any) For example..
How do you send..
in game tells (ie to friend not near you)
OOC Chat-
Shortcut keys, IE trade/sit/private chat, without haveing it on your hot bar.
and most annoying, MAKE YOUR NAME STAY THE SAME!!! - Mine keeps switching back to my Nickname, I hate that, and If I had known that I wouldnt have put one in there.

yeah i couldnt figure out how to send a PM in game without being able to right click the person.
is there a way to see who all is on in the game? i know that might be hard, cause it seems the game is seemless/zoneless. for example, in everquest you zone from place to place. you have to load each seperate town/location. in those areas you can “/who all” and see everyone there. Now my only indication is by the dots on my radar.
Running and moving seemed very complicating at first. I was told by a society member that you could hold down the middle mouse wheel to turn yourself. that made it a ton easier.
FAP- from reading i am taking this to be a healing machine. how do they work? are they unlimited heals?

[li]If you are familiar with FPS (first person shooter) games, go into options and click 1st person, make sure Aim Mode is on, and make sure stickiness is on. Spacebar switches aim/cursor mode, and you use WASD keys to move (but Q for running). Back before the VU 7.0 interface change, there were MUCH less settings so almost anyone could figure it out in minutes.[/li][li]To send a PM, you first have to hold right click on the person and select add to friendlist. Then, press J to pop up friend list, and double click their name to send them a message. There is no way to add someone without being near them.[/li][li]Type /s at the start for society chat eg. /s hey noobs :)[/li]/t for team.

MindArk always forget simple things such as SAVING options[/li][li]It is mostly seemless. MindArk are big fans of secrecy, so there is NO way to see who is online.[/li][li]Yes, FAPs are used for healing. If you took the time to investigate this ingame, the tutorial message should have explained that… For one thing, [SIZE=7]NOTHING IN THIS GAME IS UNLIMITED[/SIZE]. If it was, everyone would heal everyone else all the time gaining free healing skills. FAPs are used just like weapons… except they heal instead of damage. To heal yourself, hold ALT to target yourself. If you have Move To Target disabled (which you should because it sucks) then this isn’t such an issue, except the code is terribly unreliable.[/li][/ul]

Hi al im seeing alot of good questions in here and well I need them :). We are currently developing a site that should be able to guide you through al the questions you might have during your first weeks of PE so we need some help. Atm we need alot of questions so we can create an easy to understan faq. We are also looking for someone intrested in writing an easy guide for mining that explains everything in a easy way. (Of course it should be for after the latest VUs thats why we need new guides) If you feel you can contribute with anything please let me know 
We are also looking for serious mentors that are known and trusted. We are working on a system that will allow you to find a mentor that is provenly good. So if you are a mentor and are willing to help out give me a PM-.
I can understand about the manual being out of date, but I would still read it. It could still answer a few questions you have without having to post them here. Anything that then doesn’t make sense or work properly after you have read the manual, then post the questions.
I bet a lot of questions you have will still be answered in that manual.
