Hi i’m a newbie been playin since march have tried all the weapons out and all these people tell me of there skills over 1000 and stuff i can’t even get over 96 i am wondering is there any funner way to play other than just grinding skills its boring i just run out in the field and kill stuff at a slower rate wheres the fun so i am looking for any tips to have a funner expierience.

My advice is to not worry about skills. Just go out there and do what you enjoy! Meet new ppl, etc…

I have fun like hunting big mobs with people but not many people wanna take a low skilled noob out to hunt stuff
if you spot me ingame, ill take you out. i enjoy helping new people get into the game. i dont mind tanking for a group of newbs, i get good evade skills, and we all have some fun. just look for one of the many of people in rascal armor, and you might find me.
but to answer your question… this game is a lot of grind. if you arent interested in devoting a big chunk of your life to it, there isnt a lot of point in playing.
possibly WoW, or some other lower time investment game may be in your best interest. PE takes time, money, luck, sweat, blood, and tears.

I respectfully disagree. I have never felt the game a grind and honestly the last six months or a year is when people became so obsessed with skills and skillng (thanks to the LG and Skill Chips IMO).
This game is and can be very enjoyable for those who are “casual gamers” as well.

Can I agree with both Empty and DD? 
B/c I do. If you want to habitually be able to tank larger mobs, then you need the skills and ped to do so which, as empty points out, is “grind”. On the other hand, if you’re playing this game for some fun, love meeting new ppl from all over the globe and wish to go after larger mobs only on ocassion, then DD is correct.
In any event, my :twocents: is to have fun first and foremost. Now you just need to figure out what is fun to you so you can do that 
Or if u can afford it don’t bother building skills by “skillin” go out buy a good set of armor and a weapon (that most people will say is “way out of ur league” ) and just try killin anything u can find ur still building skills just slower and spending more peds doing it 
OK 2 things…
- buy an MK2 Justifier
- Either get a set of armor (i.e. Rascal) or a decent fap (i.e. Fap50)
Next go out and kill stuff. MK2 is good for biffoids and such. And if that doesn’t do it for ya then be at Fort pandora at 04.30 UTC on May 12th for a humonganous hunt!! We’re talking whoopin atrox stalkers here!!!
Over 4 months and I don’t have anything over 900. I just do what I enjoy and don’t worry about the skills for the most part.
I have Ghost armor and a Katsuichi Valor. Most would say I don’t have the skills for my equipment. But I LIKE actually having a chance against drones & atrox.
I still like to go out & hunt with my ax, or my Jester (even though I have a Justifier MkII also). I prefer to wear the armor, even against Exas and Daikibas, and I especially like hunting Corns - charge into a bunch of them and tank while they chomp on my armor ineffectively.
And hold onto that FAP-50 just in case!
People. It’s all about people and makinng friends and talking. There are a few hard core hermits in this game but not many hang around if they can’t find people they like to talk to and hang around with.
ScorpianLance’s advice was pretty good. An Mk2, Goblin and FAP-50 are not too expensive and you can have loads of fun at just about any level of skill with that set up.

couldnt agree more. i just recently hooked up with a soc mate that is online as much as i am… we go out hunting for hours and hours together. i can honestly say that i would not be playing as much if it wasnt for the great people i have met here. the people make the game. without good friends, good soc mates, and lots of interesting people doing so many different things, PE would not be that much fun. group hunting is a total blast (literally).
also agree on the justifier mk2 and fap-50. just recently got those myself, the fap-50 is totally freakin sweet… used to have a fap-35, what a piece of crap!!! and the justifier mk2 is a sweet weapon.
gotta have rascal armor tho, i tried vigi and ghost, vigi was not good enough protection against the mid level mobs im hunting (better for drones/pk, i believe?), and ghost will make you sh** your pants when you see how much youre paying for decay. great protection, HIGH decay. but ghost looks so cool tho… dang it…
Well you see Wow was not fun to me cause it seemed it went fast and THEN went into a grind around 20-30 som and this game i enjoy today i signed on bough a mechanical componets book and made basic filters that was fun.

and i am 16 i have beta tested mxo, payed for the following EQ2,swg,ps,l2,coh,eq,wow they all weren’t too good to me i played swg the longest that was like a year and also eq that long

And why not? You pay subscription for so many games already, why not pay subscription to PE? You said you like PE more, and yet you will not pay the amount that you would have for those games? You pay around 10 usd a month for those games? Then pay 10 usd a month in PE. It doesn’t matter how much you put in as long as you can budget your spendings to fit into that budget category. 100 peds a month is easily do-able with things like axe 1.0. You can earn lots of skills and hp while you hunt with axe 1.0 and you might make a profit too!
If you have funds in this game on a regular basic, then you will find a whole new perspective in PE. But it will definitely lower the grind you feel.
PKing is a good way too skill

hey c4n im also 16 never really played games like this before used to prefer geting wasted lol, but since playing PE i have become obsessed lol, but i have started paying about 20 dollars a week and its not that much for some 1 our age especially if its ur fav game out of the lot trust me it becomes so much more fun wen u can afford those items you want or have the freedom to try out a but of trading all you have to do is chuck a few bucks in jus to see if it is really worth u spending alot in the game (although u dont have to) and like u sed it is ur fav out of the lot, … dont knock it till u tried it, my suggestion is chuck 10 bucks in and see how it goes
