MA needs to improve crafting!

I think we should start some sort of petition to MA…
not in complaing way, but to get some things done to tweak up crafting a little bit. At least give some simple suggestions that maybe they take into consideration. (but lots of credit that they did fix crafting lockups! )

First off, the bp books themselves… each bp in a book takes an item count, so crafters are always near the 200 item count limit. This can be easily fixed by making a bp book, act like a storage container.

Also, we need to be able to handle bps, and bp books a lot easier. Putting them in storage etc. and especially auction bp books with bps in them. There has been a spot on the auction for a year now I think for this… but have never been able to put anything there! (unless we are to buy a book from tt, and place it on auction)

Secondly, I think there should be a change in how bp’s drop. It is not fair to have certain bps “locked” when there are slots available for those bp’s in the bp books. Example… armour bps. L7-10 was locked, then 8-10, now it’s at 9-10.
This is unfair to crafters that craft on high lvl, and lose a fortune in their efforts to get a new high lvl bp… when they are actually not able to drop. (or have a 1 in a million droprate or something)

I think if the bp book is out, all bps from that book should be able to drop. and maybe, if you could only get +2 levels or so bp drop from which you are crafting, this would make things more fair for higher lvl crafters who are spending lots of cash, to be rewarded with nice bps…

and lastly, Tools!!!
been waiting for a long time now. but we really need more tools, craftable boxes, and Level 6-10 bps. Also it would be nice to fix up the ones we currently have, like refiners, and adding stats etc!

I agree something have to be done, after all crafting isnt a profession most have as their first choice because of the little return from it. I would love to craft but its just too expencive for me.

Agreed Buzz. Crafting needs an overhaul. I believe much of what you are suggesting is in the PE Road Map for 2005. It seems you may get your wish this year.

Patience is all that in needed now…

yes i definately agree, especially on the bp’s that are locked, i know a few ppl on armor bp’s that have spent an insane amount of money trying to get the lvl 9 bp to drop but it never does (so most definately is locked :()

I’m mainly a hunter. But I do like crafting from time to time. And yes it blows big time having to carry all those damn BP’s around  And it’s a real pain in the ass having to unload the books just to put everything into storage.

Yeah, i think crafting would be alot funnier and easier if they fixed it up. It´s to expensive for most player to do full time crafting!

Stats on tool is looooooooong overdue ! Ive heard that they are coming for almost 2 years now. That and a working withdrawalsystem is basically my only " complaints " on PE today !

Yes, I agree with you about most of the stuff.
Blueprint books with blueprints should count as only 1 item.
More then 214 items is hard to manage in own invetory when storage also is full.
I guess that it is also fair to reduce drop-rate so only +2 levels drop. Maybe only +1 if something more usefull also will be implemented.

About storage boxes, make them craftable very soon.
My nightmare will come through if they will be lootable from snables with TT 10 pec each to let hunters put in loads of pixie and goblin crap.

About tools, yes, make some level 6-10 tools craftable.
Maybe a level 10 uber fap with 200 hp heal, but 50 pec decay.

Good ideas you got there, Buzz.

/Kjetil

Yeah, crafting really need a fix.

I think the major important problem is that hunting you can buy ammo at TT and hunt and sell parts of it at market value

Mining buys bombs at TT and then sell resources at market value

Crafters MUST buy resources at market value which rises the cost a lot AND sell the things to TT (most of the bps)

This makes it very hard to be well skilled as a crafter and the crafted items arnt really that good … a tweak will be good, change some crafted stats, the way it works, or make it cheaper, just change something, so many years of ideas of crafting, any of them will help

i generally think stats on faps, mining equip. and refiners would help lots. other than that, i think crafting has the greatest rewards (consistant) over any profession, if you grab a great BP that no-one has, then you make tons of profit. thats why it costs so much to get into aswel.. i think people underestimate how ‘balanced’ MA have it. sometimes they make mistakes but overall, they are ontop of things.

Good ideas indeed :wise:

I’d second that. However, Ek-2600 Deluxe would become more than useless with its 100 HP recovery and 1.80 PED decay

Something like this ?

Ek-3000 Deluxe [Level X Blueprint]
Quality rating : 100.0

Materials needed :

  • 50 Rugaritz
  • 20 Magerian Spray
  • 10 Dunkel Plastix
  • 5 Binary Energy

Crafted item info :
Full TT value : 1000 PED
Maximum recovery : 200.0
Range : 100
Reload rate : 1.0 s
Decay : 5.00 PED

Sorry for being a lil bit sarcastic

I see, you hang on the old topic again

All Crafters should know that the Attachment Bug is in direct to the BP book bug.

You cant repair or trade a item with an attachment on it.

MA told to fix the error with comming year with deathline of Christmas 2005.
That would tell us the bug wil be fixed in February 2006 :stuck_out_tongue:

I not know how you feel, but when i have to manny Items in my Inventory, they wil be placed in my storrage after a relog. (Only when they disapear)

To get a good Crafter you have to deside what proffecion you like to take.
Look @ “starman” he is a real Tailor & has a bulk of nice BPs.
But Chanel, who buys all she likes has more BPs :stuck_out_tongue:
How you think that comes?

I can tell you.

What use you have from a BP if youre not able to use it because lack of skills.
Nothing… MA simple wants to not alow all players to craft every item.

I personaly would not like to hang on a LvL 7 BP and a NooB gets a LvL 10 BP while Crafting a Jster-D1

On the point of level per Crafting iam @ your side.
The skills should be a bit faster between the Main Skill Levels. But maybe a PED usage & Time-InGame counter would fix this fact.

This would make it posible to get higher levels & BPs for real PE users :wise:

Ok, i see my reputation go down so i come to the point of trash BPs & Storrage.

I Hate MA for the fact to replace 50 BPs per Book. :frowning:
I not counted the BPs per book, but it realy feels like that.
20 mins for put a full BP-Book into the Storrage are much to much :\

what about attachments ?

attachmetns is just stupid, insane costs for the lowerst lvls meaning u cant train it

and even tho getting 350 skills in manu attach cost me like 30k peds (in loses) it still acts as 350, which is like nothing…

also, whats the deal with scopes and lasers ? they are just useless… they dont do anything, expensive to craft, and are just hmmm
lame…
also not anough differance between the skill mod of scopes and lasers

its like 0.5% on each lvl ?

tahts just stupid

the lvl9 lasers, cost me like 900 peds to craft, lvl7 lasers cost 300 peds or craft or something, and the differance is 1% so why the hell someone would buy it

ofcourse when they know that skill mod= shit…

 wow. right on. i won’t be able to sleep tonight.

storage boxes what is that??? :stuck_out_tongue:

also crafters need a 'do ‘em all’-button…

also i think the CoS system is plain silly…

if i feel like crafting i log into rubies of eventide which has a pretty cool system which is not tooo complicated…
lemme explain a bit:
if a ‘bp’ or rather item is selected you can add materials(also various materials which result in better success and stuff)
2 displays..one showing ur CoS in % with 2 decimals and one with the current quality level
also there 2 button ..one to craft and one to complete or stop crafting further..
all items in shops have QL 100 which means perfect condition
now if ur skilled u can push the QL of items up to QL 125
so basicly you always see your risk and if you are skilled enuff you can finish items with a QL 100+ without big risk…if its too risky then you just push complete and you have the item with the QL displayed.

well to totally copy this system wont work but displaying ‘excellent’ and the actual success is like 60-65% is just ..arghhhh

I dont get the idea of this post? Is it what you would like to happen, or what is happening? Because if its the latter then…

Starman is a ‘real’ tailor and Chanel is not? Eh?

You are not allowed to use high-level BP’s at low level? You sure are. MA doesnt want all players NOT to be able to use all BPs - because noob crafters using lvl10 BP’s will lose so much more than regular crafters its insane - so there is a difference.

The point about noobs getting high-level BP’s from low level crafting.. Omg. If this happened regularly enough, then why arent all crafters just making jesters and mann’s?

It happens once in a million clicks that someone gets a Dante amp BP from making alekz scopes. Same for getting a Fusil Aribesque from crafting Jesters.

PED usage and in-game time to donate whether or not you get a good BP? Dont you think this is slightly unfair that someone who buys an old players account (2+ years ‘experience’) then logs in, throws 10,000 PED at crafting in a day (its easily done - ive spent 4,000 on tailoring in 3 hours) then reaps the rewards of ultra-high-level BPs? This is just too open for abuse, plus it is just another way that noob crafters can become ‘uber’ by PEDs only.

Too many BPs in a book? takes too long to put them in storage? Heres a simple way of getting around it. Only put the BP you are using in your book! Why bother putting all BPs you own in books at the beggining of crafting? Just take the 5 you are going to use, craft on them, REMOVE them and put them back in storage? Hell.. you can even sell the books back to TT afterwards.

Sorry for rough answer - but any noob player reading this is going to get the wrong impression…

I liked old component crafting approach. It could have even more phases so that it would be stupid for one crafter to do every phase but instead make more use of crafting teams or component trading.

BUT the most important thing that crafting needs is importance in PE. I know that everytime I write about it I get hunters whining (and Im a hunter myself too) but the fact that hunters dont need any other profession in PE is the first thing to correct in economy.

[ul][li]Miners and crafters need each other.[/li][li]Tailors need hunters.[/li][li]Hunters need no one.[/li][/ul]

That situation should be corrected. Of course its a taboo for hunters who have used to that they should be able to loot everything and always get best hofs etc.

To make hunters dependable on others, crafters should get monopoly (~those items would be almost totally removed from loots) on at least one vital area: weapons, ammo or armors.

Also I would like to see “cold” areas (like there are toxic areas) where you would need adequate clothing to survive. To make at least some need to own specific clothing.

2 very radical ideas. me likey.

the main theme that crafting needs to be important is extremely relevant.

good thoughts Essi.
