I realize the PE is a game that’s main goal is to make money for the founders of PE through weapon/armor/equipment decay and odds of making money at a trade. But in every other role playing game i’ve played (70 wizzy in everquest for $9 a month) you can pretty much survive. Now once again i realize that PE is a business but it would be nice to go out and beat a mob to death with my bare hands, get the skillups, and not have to worry about decay. I’m not looking to go wipe out an atrox with my bare hands and no armor but an exarosaur young would be pretty cool to beat with no armor or weapon. I guess the bottom line is that this is a pretty fun game, but when it copmes time that i need to deposit i’ll go back to everquest for the $9 a month.
Would love to hear other peoples opinions, I’ve heard of people sinking $100’s of real money into the game.
Well you got to understand that since PE is real based economy (Real money for game stuff), they can’t afford to do that ;(
See if you had mobs you could just skill on and did not get any loot but skills, that would not be right for the ppl that paid to have their skills, even now skills has been turned into an TT value.. And with that done, now skills are real money too.
You got to understand they don’t charge an monthly subscription to the game, so they need to count on your decay to pay for stuff.
So PE will never be what your type of player needs… ok that is an assumption (guess)
The real question is the theory behind PE flawed ??? Is the PE economy flawed??
I think no matter what, some % of the players (customers) will have to bring in new money via deposits since MA needs real money to keep operating.. If most players where successful and did not need to deposit , hmm don’t know…
If you where able to go out now and kill small mobs like exarosaur young and get loot, every one including myself would do that. The PE economy would fall apart in less then an few days. There would be no in coming peds to either the loot pool or pe. There will be only out going peds to the players. While this might sound great at first. PE would not last very long
What nicole said..
I still think though that if you go out with your opalo and hunt snables your 9$ can keep you going for quite a while. The bigger weapon you use the faster your money tend to disappear. Stay with something basic and it should not get too expensive.
Thanks for the feedback all, I have to say that it is a fun game, and I managed to hit a 715ped Global my first week playing, so that should keep me going for quite awhile.
I figure over 2 years of playing everquest and the expansions I’ve probably payed about $200 total to play and become pretty much Uber in that game. I wonder if the same $200 would go as far in PE?? I’m at the point in EQ where I cant do anything but make money (wish I could withdraw )
Has anyone noticed a point where thier skills are so high that they seem to at least breakeven all of the time?? Too early for me to tell

used to know an few players that used to be able to do that, but PE is changing to more luck and less equipment / skills.
One of the guns imk2 just with decent skills made 75% of all your hunts profits. That gun (rifle) goes for 50k peds by the way. Thats right $ 5,000 usd gun.
but now even with that gun profits is not an sure thing.
In fact one of my friends sold his imk2 because he was losing most hunts and bought land area.
NO 200.00 will not go far in pe, can’t lie.
Well that might be an hard questoin to answer now that I think of it. you did say uber right? well 200.00 usd in uber skills / equipment will not go far at all.
Can you have fun with 200.00 usd .. for an long time sure
But when asking if 200.00 usd will make you uber? just look above for the price tag on the imk2.. 5,000 usd gun.. just the gun.
PS : dont forget to post your hof / globals.. hope you took an screen shot? upload to the forums gallery.. then make an post in the correct section

Wow!! Steve, you got lucky there. I know people that have played for 2 or 3 years and never got a global or a hof that big. I know some players that have played that long and never got any globals or hofs at all.
Hmm… You think you can play PE on 90 PED/month? I would like to hear back from you in a month to see how that went.
Once again thanks all for the feedback, my goal is not to deposit and go as long as I can, I’ll keep you all updated. I’ve been finding great info on the threads here so good lessons to implement. I’m not going to be playing purely for profit but to see what the game has to offer. I’m also not planning on withdrawing so we’ll see how it goes
