i saw Zarg from EMS socity selling EON harness male in auction and decided to buy it, if price stays normal, in this case i give some peds to my friend from our cadets soc and ask him to buy it. Here is story what happens: He do some bid with Stoikow, since Stoikow stops biding (yes - MS is my friend), then some newcomer Mia Militia Dia start to bid, my friend stop @8,5k as i said, she goes up to 8,7k and got harness, but seems terrible mistake hapens again (few days before Gala from EMS bought EON harness male for 8,351 peds and only then discovered she need female :eek: , imagine how many wasted peds and how can ppl feel after this ). sems same mistake and she try to sell it fast to get peds back, but seems some misunderstunding with digits, she put it @8,5k buyout (remember she paid 8,7k). my friend ofcourse bought it, but now he feels so bad about Mia’s wasted 200 peds… and i cant sleep too all night, when thinking about this poor n00b who lost 200 peds in so stupid way… PPLZ - plz help us to find Mia - we wanna return her’s 200 peds…
and mates - in future plz look more carefull on EON harneses male - they are very similar with female ones, this is second accident in 1 week already !!!

in general i just wanna warn u all:
some pplz from EMS (Zarg in this case) use multiple avatars or friend avatars to overbid his own items to raise a price. Be carefull next time when see these pplz to selling something in auction, specialy when u biding and never seen pplz try to overbid u. I am totaly sure noone, isnt so stupid to buy something for 800+ usd with doing multiple bids and only then discover mistake or put item back in auction cheaper.
The Problem on Bidding is you pay only 1 Ped when you get the Bid on your own Item with the Multiple Avatar but you can can gain hundreds when you sucessfully push your price.
Price Pushing is always used to drive up prices. Lets Imagine someone want to sell Gsi Chips. He Put 20 of them in Auction and buy them with his other Avatar for 130 Peds. All this Acution logging sites will tell you the price for Gsi raised up and people will happy buy for 110 Ped. This Action had need some monney involved but the real Cost of Advertising was only 20 Ped in that case.
Imagine what happen when someone with 100K Peds and 3 or 4 Multiple Avatars decide to manipulate the Auctions to get rid of some stocked massive Ammounts of Ores for Example.
if u buying items for own use u are not watching @ auction sites. u paying price which one is comfortable for this item and u. for example u never gonna buy GSi for 600 peds (these times are over), and doesnt matter what are auction sites saying if i need GSIs i go and hunt , if need adition ones - checking auction - but i always have max price limit which one i gonna pay and i never pay more. yes - i noticed some pplz resseling GSIs and ores, because to many unknown names with very big amounts of GSIs and ores. and i know its not so easy to collect 30-50 GSI, forme it takes few weeks of hard hunting.
but point of this topic: its good to know some of these pplz - to avoid overpaying in future.
Ya agreed- we are dealing with some large sums of cash that eventually the auction system needs to be readjusted to look rather more like ebay than pe auction
In the meantime, every1 bidding on auctions needs to keep a heads up as to what, exactly, they are buying and from whom.

I have to agree with both. A seller rating would be nice to show who sells better products. And getting a message on who bought your item would be usefull, that way you can deal directly with them in the future if needed, and avoid the hassle of the auction.
players will start to place bids more carefully and for what they consider to be the market value of an item.
Ever see someone put a mk2 in auction with a starting bid of 1ped?
then someone bids 2 peds..we all know that it will sell for more than 2 peds so why not bid TT plus 30? this would be a great deal for that weapon.
often times we see bidding wars for large ticket items when players bid 1 ped more…then 1 ped more…then 1 ped more…
if bidding cost 1 ped..players would be forced to bid smarter and more carefully.

While your intentions are good, I think this would not deter the main “offenders” of the auction… that is, those ppl that grow quite wealthy by bidding on their own items via other avis. They would glady pay 1, 2 or even 5peds if it means they are upping the bids on their items by 20,50, or 100 peds In the end, it would only harm “the little ppl” like most of us

Funny thing, I did not know this practise is illegal in U.S. until someone
wrote about it in some PE forum. Since I am not a pro trader, I usually
buy only by the top bid, since I want the thing right away, just like I don’t
want to start a bidding war on tomatoes in the supermarket, I just want
tomatoes NOW. And I don’t buy stuff often so things are easy for me.
And I don’t usually place any bids on stuff which does not have max bid.
So please folks, put also your max bids sensibly (little over the pro price,
to give chance for busy random buyers, and for those who prefer
anonymous purchases). And somebody could also make a short report on
how eBay works and how eBay and PE auctions differ?

I want to introduce my self, my name is Zarg and I am that EON harness seller. I am a trader, and that’s what I do, couse I want to play this game and it would be kind of hard to deposit and play like I want (I can say, that after a bad hunt, I loose my 1 week sallary, and I need to live…). I am sorry if someone don’t like traders, but thats inevitable everyvhere, where real cash are involved. (We have resellers IRL, we have them in game too).
I bought this EON harness from dropkick for 9.3k (and he knew, that I bought it for a resell) and my intentions was to make some cash (that’s what I do, buy items, if I think that they are cheap and sell them for a market price), but got burned, couse sold it for 8.7k.
It wasn’t the harness Gala bought few days before I sold mine (I think they both was in auction @ same time, but can’t prove that now, but Gala sold her harness much later, and I think that u sow that…).
I realy can’t tell why that Militia sold this EON harness for 8.5k, can only guess now, but I assure u, that it’s not my or my friends char.
HunterZ, I respect u as a player and a man, and I understand why u think so, but it is just missunderstanding. U can beleave it or not, for u to choose. Just had to say that.
I have been keeping an eye on the auction for sometime and some of the recent improvements MA has made I really like (adding categorys and the such) I used to EBAY quite a bit and there are always going to be shill bidders in any auction environment I am not sure what MA could do to curb people doing this other than looking through the logs whether it be chat or trading logs to see if there is any nefarious activity among the person bidding and the person selling. Such as person selling gives the shill bidder 10K ped and states in a PM or Chat to bid up his product. It might take a full time support person or two just to monitor the auction to look for people manipulating it. They can go many different ways with the auction even making it somewhat of an EBAY clone. 1 ped per bid transaction well that seems like it would work but I guarantee you will still have shill bidding because those people are trying to inflate the product price. The ped per bid won’t matter to them because they are there to get a set price. It would only hurt everyone else the only thing it might stop is the 1 ped bid wars lol. So in short MA just needs to monitor the auction a little better than just set it up collect the ped and let it run. If you notice shill bidding or blantant manipulation try to get screenies of it and send them to support or post on EF. I know if I have solid proof of manipulation I will boycott that seller no matter how good his prices are.
