The order of the categories on the left side of https://forum.entropiauniverse.com/categories seems to depend on the latest activity. The old PCF had a fixed order, which I really prefer to have again.

Actually this is getting annoying. It feels as if every time I look at “all categories” the order of the categories is different.

Yes. 
This, and also some sort of a tree structure like we used to have.
