I spent most of my day at work reading the forums and waiting to get home to log in to PE for the first time. From what I’ve read the people on this forum are very nice and welcoming, so I hope you don’t mind if I bother you with a small tech question.
Hopefully some of you have experienced this and its not a big deal. But when I first longed in and I’m at the avatar creation screen I can’t see my avatar. the background is all gray and all I can make out is the silhouette of the clothing. the extremities all blend in with the background.
I had thought that this might be a Video card issue, I’m running and older Radeon 7500 Mobility, which seems to be supported. I couldn’t find any recent driver updates so I think I’m running the most recent. I keep windows up to date, but I did check to see if I need to download Direct X 9.0. everything seems in order in that department as well. So now I’m just hoping its a settings issue.
Any help would be great. I’ve been so excited about playing this is just driving me crazy :P.

you might want ot reastart your pc and give your gfx card a good acces to air cus it soounds like a artifct to me ( usualy happens when you are overclocking gfx cards)
saddly thats not it :(… gave it a good while to cool down (over an hour) and still nothing… I sent in a question to MindArk so hopefully I can get an answer.
yeah, I tried them, unfortunatly it says that my system is not compatible and that I should use the original drivers or contact the computer manufacture(sp)..
this is getting so frustrating :(… almost want to just created the Avatar and see what happens… but god knows what it will look like :-/
I had an older basic graphics card when I started this game and it was soooooooo slow but I set all the options (before you go to game) to low graphics, no sound etc. and it was playable
Maybe you could try that to see if you can at least start and get your avatar. BTW: roll mouse back to see yourself full length, forward for close-up - in case you hadn’t seen that control yet.
well its not the mouse wheel.. as i just hooked up one and still nothing. I’m looking into the video drivers, although its not very promising. I’ve been debating about uninstalling and reinstalling, but im not sure if tht will help at all.
