:mad: Well folks time for my first rant, but hopefully some constructive feedback will come as a result.
It is really an extension of concerns raised by other players here about the practice of killing at revival points.
I teleported myself to Amethera to have a look around and made the mistake of unwittingly teleporting straight into a PK arena. Trying to leave the island I was shot three times by a certain Jenna “Pornstar” Jameson (let me guess, IRL a 14 year old male with too much slime on their hands? :laugh: ).
Without carrying any weapons I simply tried to make my way from the revival point to the TP and was shot down some five times in the process only about three feet away from the TP. As an obvious Newbie I just have to ask the question where is the sport in that? aside from getting people riled, what satisfaction can it give someone to shoot unarmed people?
I didn’t realise from reading the other posts just how frustrating this experience can be. I can only wonder to myself as to why Mindark have chosen to allow a ‘repetitive slaughter zone’ in between revival and TP.
The obvious answer you may say, is stay away from Amethera, but I thought it would be possible to at least explore some of the island without running into these incidents. However does anyone else feel a safe route should be established between the revival point and the TP so that people unwilling to participate in PvP can leave the island?
I think that is a probely but it dose at the overall roleplaying element of the game. I think that a safe zone would be up for abuse by player srunning away from other they just shot but i would recomend to MA a period of inviviblity of around 30 seconds after reviing in order to give people time to get their health up or in your case leave the continent, this period of invicibilty would also have to have other features like only aginst PK attacks and you wouldent be able to use your weapons as that would lead obvious abuses of this systeam.
Well, perhaps I’ll try again in a few days time (after all the apartments are sold :laugh: )
The entrepeneur in me has just thought up an obvious business opportunity however which could turn all of this into a positive experience. :twocents:
How about some of you Uber types selling your services as Bodyguards? - Offering your security to escort n00bs such as myself to the island of Amethera along similar lines of the Spaceship excursions. Escort people from Port Atlantis for example to the new continent and escorting to the nearest city / TP.
Darn if only there was a commission for ideas like this!
yes Machman… I agree. I don’t mind getting pk’d on Amethera, but certainly there should be some kind of immunity around revival, shop container and tp imo… and with the new apartments, it’s the same deal.
Now every1 is there pk’ing, so soon they will stop wasting their ped :laugh: Evenso, I would like immunity around the apartment complexes there
There is a reason most people stayed away from that continent, but MA think they can get people interested by putting all the apartments there. It’s not going to work.
I don’t think the pk’ing will stop, every noobie seeing it will think its cool, funny or at least try to get some revenge for their deaths and pretty soon everyone will be taking pops at everyone else.
Will people think its funny if they are about to bid on some cheap uber gear and some dickhead kills you before you can place your bid?
What about when you are in your apartment and someone walks in and does it?
Why can’t they just make zones, where people have the option to partake?
I invested in 2 large apartments this morning. One is on auction and the other I’ve sold. I’m not going back either.
I’m also curious whether the 10 peds I had to pay to walk into my apartments will be charged again when someone has bought them from me a day later :laugh:

Dont think to much about Jenna,its just a TP killing n00b. No legit pk streak ever,only TP kills on amethera :rolleyes:
I was witness to this attempt at a killing spree myself and I just stood and watched for a while not wanting to get involved really ( sorry for not trying to help ) but I did notice that she/he? was only taking shoots at people she figured she could take out. I stayed long enough to watch this person pk one person in a mix of pixie and goblin armour 2 others with not even a full suit of armour and some one in a full suit of goblin armour but they never took a shot at me :dunno: never the less I beleive that the apartments being in amertha are simply an attempt by MA to get more people to go there and after checking them out my plans of getting one have changed !

most might but pornstar will not she had me traped on TI many times one of the reasons i didnt bid on one of the houses there.
Infact 3 times all different days a diff times she was there i never got to see the house and havent tryed since.
was very happy today though when i just TPed in to put some stuff in my appartment gess who was there yep pornstar i was about to run for it when (cant remember his namm) killed her :cheer:

I’m all for the potential role playing aspects of the game, so yes there should be scope for renegade characters - however I would be rather annoyed to have bought an apartment only to find it is in a crack infested gangland neighbourhood and I am liable to get myself and my guests shot whilst simply popping down to the shops! :laugh: Once or twice is ok, but being forced into an endless be killed, revive, be killed cycle is infuriating, jeez I spent nine years in Los Angeles and that was bad enough!
Maybe it is MAs intention to turn this area into a Badlands type warzone and perhaps with the introduction of reputation it could be managable as we organise into factions, effectively creating our own security forces and offering income opportunities through bounties etc.
Bodyguard opportunities still sound viable to me and if a higher percentage of minerals for example are found on Amethera, then it could still be worthwhile for n00bs such as myself to attempt passage there.
But too many unknowns for my liking at the moment.

No worries about simply being a bystander - a few individuals were commenting on the lameness of it all and I think that’s sufficient. If it had turned into a mass kill for all then that would be only vindicating this n00bs behaviour.
I usually find the Pkillers tend to go after the ones that complain the most about it. I was bystanding on Ameth whilst filling up my shop and it certainly looked that way.

I usually would agree Azi, but this is not the case atm… Slayer and about 6 others have done nothing but kill every1 (EVERY1) within the range of tp up on Genesis Star complex… and it’s wrong. It’s ok if you get pk’d once, but they are pk’ing every1 everywhere atm… :mad: :mad: :mad:

I’d just bought my apartment and was standing at the au near the block looking for one for a society mate when i was shot. I was not wearing armour or holding a weapon. This same person who was female and wearing full neme armour shot everyone who was not wearing armour in the s/c. Later after getting back to apartment block I was wearing armour and got shot by the same person again. (neme is not good against an as-147)
They were running around the apartment block pk’ing anyone yelling ‘Comne on I want a fight’ when all most people wanted to do was find their apartment!!!.
The next person they tried to kill was a different proposition. I was standing on my balcony when i saw the conversation Pk’er: ‘Cmon guys i want a fight!’; Victim: ‘Ok i’ll just kill you with my Doa Rockjacker :)’; Pk’er: ‘Hey thats not fair, I said I want a fight’; Victim; blam, blam,blam .
Most of these lamers can’t take it if they are on the recieving end i notice.
Yes I know Amethera is a pvp zone but I dont expect to be pk’d whilst in the au, that is just lame.
If I get pk’d every time I try to get to my apartment i’ll be selling it on very quickly and will very probably never go back as its a waste of time there really.

even after the people have stopped PKing on the ground, you can never hope for a nice relaxing sit on your balcony over lunch with friends - people think they’re cool looking over to you and shooting you - well all i can say is this:
If you’re unhappy, send a support asking for the peds for your apartment returned. MA will soon get the message.
