It’s nonstop crashing at update it was whole computer but now after patch crashes just the game or at first sometimes crashes all the chat windows where i have to close the game. It happens every 3 minutes if I’m lucky. I used to have for example “ped” and “shrapnel” be all black on low settings and not gold. I know at least 1 other person who said they changed ped from black to gold now not knowing it was always gold. So is there a way to go back into low settings again especially for items or we just going to lose a chunk of the playerbase?
I can buy a new computer sure but not everyone can or will especially when unreal isnt even here yet. is there something I’m missing or did they just take the low item quality away completely?
Also if anyone can help with an idea or what I’m looking for for a good laptop that can handle this game in unreal I’d appreciate it so I don’t have to buy 2. Preferably under or around $1000.
Aw ya auction, map, links, all kinds of crap going wrong. Hopefully they take some of your ideas for the outline of the AH. Do you happen to know how to get low item quality back even tho you probably don’t play in that mode? I’d like to at least be able to do some basic functions until I can get another laptop, it’s tough to do anything in < 3min.
See in tools if lowering your connection make any difference, switch off to safe mode, switch off sound. If that won’t help buy any hp vitus it is cheap (way below 1000), but good for gaming
I risked to log in today first time after the update, 8 hours no crashes (standalone client). Not a fan of certain changes, also feels slightly more jerky, but that’s my own fault for running 1440p very high settings on potato (10700k/32gb ddr4/rtx 2080), but otherwise it holds together.
Idk 2 much about computers but if 32gb ram? Is a potato then my 8gb ram laptop is a paperweight lol. I mean it ran game fine forever got whole week long sessions even before and I played starfield game perfectly but I don’t really play anything else to compare.
@mortimerhotshot I got sound off lowest of all settings basically with internet speed on lowest too just cant find the items quality to go back to trash.
@Alina I can tell they definitely did some performance upgrades for regular game graphics settings when they forced that on me after patch, like when teleporting into PA was much easier (unless it’s because a bunch of people cant/won’t login atm lol). But MA didn’t want to waste time on low graphics upgrades with it maybe
@WrongKidDied21 that seems like a decent option although is the 8/16 gb ram is enough with a better graphics card? Or do you buy more or something. I seen you struggling on aris on ur video so idk if that’s good then either
It defaults to very high graphics so you’ll need to change that if you haven’t already.
You can click the tools button before login and set it to safe mode and see how it is, then turn graphics up to low and see if that helps (click off safe mode before next login)
Runs fine on my ryzen 5600 + RTX 3050 6gb +32gb. Haven’t tried on my 5600g +16gb machine but don’t see why it would fail.
I’ve had 1 crash since vu 19.1 but that’s not unusual for pre vu19.1 either.
There’s a number of things I’d like changing about this VU but the overall speed is fine on lower settings.
Ah ok I had GPU rendering on and with shutting that off it made it an entire night crafting without crashing so that’s something at least. I got to play with these settings some more but I’m pretty sure I use to have that on before update too can’t even remember now. Maybe with the object quality draining lot more resources which I can’t turn down anymore like I use to have it I have to lessen resources from other areas.
I’m also looking for a laptop upgrade and what I found so far at best cost/performance is an Acer Aspire 16 AI with Windows 11 and the following specifications:

This one cost 1100 euro in my country and you probably can find a better deal on international websites or in your country. What I like most at it offers 16’’ screen size that maybe will improve the quality of gaming at a decent resolution.
I definitely want a separate video card but the prices for same specs sky rocket…
If someone could suggest to James and me some other options (with windows 11 included) and at about 1000 euro budget I would appreciate that.
in my country United Kingdom you can get a laptop with RTX 5050 or RTX 5060 and 144hz screen for about £1.000 to £1.200 from Overclockers UK.
Instead of refurbished or 2nd hand or older models you can get a brand new latest laptop with latest specs for roughly £1000 or $1.300 or equivalent euros or dollars or pounds.
Wait search this forum- i do remember somebody had similar problem as you- crashed out constantly and they solve it by doing something in files and in settings. this was issue when space mining was on.
Try going to tools on the client loader and play with video settings. Even try safe mode. Also try disabling streaming sounds.. and try 56k. I’ve had stuff like that fix buggy issues in the past.
But I can kinda relate to you.. My message center crashes the game of I try to open it.
If I warp customers and open guest list on ship all my chat windows become blank. I can still chat but I gotta open up notepad private chat log to see what customer is saying.
I don’t think I’m the only one swimming in a sea of buggy code.
Feels like they asked aí to do the whole update for them, hit submit looked at each other, shrugged, and said we’ll fix it as we go.. the players make good beta testers.
I have a ryzen 9 with an rx 9070 xt with 16gb videoram. I can run the game fine, as long as I dont startup a chrome instance or discord. This is due to me only having 16 gb ddr 4 ram. I guess I will have to double that to keep playing.. but I am considering getting an Am5 motherboard with a 3dx chip anyway.. Still I didn’t think this system wouldn’t be able to run the game with discord in the background. I can run discord on a second system for now. When I am doing radio stuff for Atlashaven radio I run entropia on an old xeon x99 v4 cpu with 32 gb ddr 4 ram. That has a 4gb rx 470 radeon gpu and the interface sometimes goes into a total mess. I can login and stand around and hunt a bit.. but not use the chat window. But there I don’t get crashes because of the 32 gb ram, even when running discord and some other tabs in the background.
So not a gpu issue as long as you have a recent 6gb+ gpu.. more of a ram issue if you only have 16gb.
