Is there anything specific I need to do first? Items to get to make my experience more enjoyable? Things to avoid? etc etc?

I think one usefull thing which is not quite explicit in the guides is that you might want to bump up some fighting skills, longblade or rifle to defend yourself when mining … nothing more annoying but getting killed while extracting …
Ok, so I deposited 20 USD. I got a set of rascal armour off the auctioneer and a large 2handed sword. Its a logn C name with E-Blade-6(Iforget exactly)
I also purchased the needed equipment to go mining for the “liquid” types. I’ve so far found enough material to refine 41 melchi crystals. I’ve only sent 3 probes so far though as I’ve been trying to get my hnting skills up. I’d like to be able to protect myself when I am out surveying.
Is this a good start on my part?
Would this weapon be an Enblade 6 By any chance? A bit much for a newbie I think, I would sell it and buy and Axe 1x0 - the most economical weapon in the game - my 1x0 Still stays faithful to me and can do a hell of a load of damage compared to newbie rifles ect, ect (I have killed drones with it :laugh: )

Yea, get a couple of axes 1.0, that’s what u want to use… forget that enblade… if you want an emergency weapon with horrible decay but brilliant performance to help you survive when in trouble get a katsuichi sword, valor or honor will do …
just skill with axe 1.0 and if you hunt low level daikibas or exos, don’t even wear the Rascal, you’ll only use peds on decay. Use your fap which will also get your first aid and anatomy skills up
Yes Rep-Edge Battle Axe 1x0 is the way to go…hunt cornundacaudas NW of Port Atlantis and you might loot one or two more.
As far as mining, save up a lot of materials you find and sell in bulk either by chatting in Port Atlantis “Selling Melchi” or listing on the Auction - you’ll get more money this way.

A little exercise would be like that: Go far west from Port Atlantis until u hit a sandy area. U shouldn’t meet too powerful mobs, berycled and daikibas can be easily defeated with rascal and axe 1x0. Get about 4-5 axes with u. Get minimum 100 probes. Put random probes at a minimum distance of 50 m (5 seconds runing), until u hit a deposit. Claim it. Bomb north, east, west and south , each at 50 m distance. U should hit another one. If not, enlarge the range at 100 m, bomb also SW, NW, NE, SE. U should raise about 4 claims. keep bombing the place until u raise 10-12 claims (do not collect yet). U should be able to see how they row. If you have 3 claims in a certain direction, it would worth bomb that direction for 2-300 m.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You will loose peds on your first mining trips. Don’t get disappointed. Just deposit 100 $. Wisely spent, they could make your start.
You might meet “Unknown signal, no match found in database” at a range of 200 meters or so. Go to that blimp direction, when u are close enough u will see a spacecraft guarded by a drones, more drones or none. Don’t care the drones, go to spacecraft, to its back, u will see a little red button. Push. Loot 50 ped Drones will attack u. Maybe u will survive. Gratz, taht would be ur first global hopefully

EDIT: you will see for sure raisings in Geology, Perception, Survey and so on. Some ppl would say that means you are near a deposit or smth. FORGET IT! Just pay attention to ur mining.

better drop random bombs, seems to have more succes
You can’t be serious :eek:
I drop 1 probe at a time, if I get nothing, I sprint for 12 Seconds but if I get anything I claim and bomb where the claim is again and so on.
Besides, I made a profit on my first trip and that was just TT value…
