im just wondering when exactly you should change mobs if th eloots ar ebad, recently i went hutning cornys north of argus with my trusty axes pats axe however to my dismay i found that more then 15 (in a row) had no loot, tho when i did actualy get loot it was 10 ped, so im just wondering when exactly to change mob if the loot isnt coming or is really bad because i dont want to miss any opportunities
Well, thats up to you. I tried relogging when I got 10 no looters and it seemed to help, may just be coincedence. Then again, we got a near uber Umb after we had like 10-15 no looters. I think its all up to the individual at the time/place the hunt take place. I think youll find if you leave an area because loots suk, someones gonna pop one soon after you leave and just make you frustrated, so, I would say to stick it out for about 10k ammo or 1.5 hours, whichever suits your weapon of choice. GL!
personal preference… there is no formula that i can see, and i think most would agree.
for all intents and purposes, loot is random. you have good days, you have bad days. make up your own rules, superstitions, etc… whatever works for you.
personally, when i get a lot of ‘no loots’ i think to myself ‘saving up for my hof’.
it would seem to point in the driection that you stated mud that it is random but i will try your relogging, also did your relogging have any affects on the amount of loot?
As stated above, it is a personal preference. However, I have little pity or empathy for ppl that keep with a mob or an area for more than say 20 no-loots and then bitch about it It’s just silly. If you have more than 15 no loots in a row, then relog at least :wise:

Nah, not the amounts, just seems to kickstart the loots again…I also TOTALLY agree with Empty, like I stated in a diff thread, you just need to find your nich and what seems to work for you. Zippo said he tried my “10k ammo, goback for another 10k” theory and he got his 800+ Atrox, then again he said he worshipped his lil Lootious thingy also, so, who knows, lol. :silly2:

ive heard more than enough people pose the arguement that mobs usually have their loots generated BEFORE you kill them, and because of that youre far more likely to improve your loot-status by switching mobs after a long consecutive no-looting… then again, iv never done any research on this point (planning on it some day), since i dont hunt that much at the moment, but its a point youll find stated on many threads.
i think its worth a try though. hell, the worse that can happen is that it doesnt change anything… you cant get LESS loot.
then again, maybe it helps to pray to your LOOTIUS :kos:
When hunting snables, i found that the females looted FAR MORE FREQUENTLY than the males. Although there was a time the males looted alot more too…
I notice that pattern and now i have superstitions regarding the gender of the mob and the time. If the males dont loot after three kills, go for the females and BAM! LOOT!!
It works for me, when i break my cheapness policiy
Long time ago in a far distent galaxy I was once told that you should pick 1 mob and stick to it and never change. Hunt it constently when you finally Uber then change.
I did Trox for long time and never ubered only HOFed a good bit, then I went to argo and Ubered, then to Warriors and Ubered, now I’m back to trox again heh.
Marcus has stated somewhere that the loot is generated when the loot window pops…not before (we have to believe him)
about gettin loots, IMO Mud is the one closest to the truth with his 10k then another 10k… but i donno… i’d definately try 20k - 20k…
here is my point of view on how things work:
say we got 10k people huntin on the same mob at the same time:
MA has to get it’s part outta it. So far I think that MA has a preset amount / hour & server & mob
so for MA to take it’s share from 10k people it means better average loot for everyone and a few globals/hofs for the most lucky (and i mean LUCK here)
if only 10 people hunt on the same area, on the same mob… they will get almost nothin back, then will get a lill… but basicaly they will be passing money from one to another after substracting MA’s share. eventualy after the 10 people are gone there are a few bucks left in the mob & area and someone else comes and pops a nice global
what Mud does by it’s 10k-10k strategy si to throw some money in an area so he can get back he’s own money… maybe with a lill extra from some other mob&area… (can’t state this would be true)
I dont really understand the 10k - 10k tactic. You got out with 10k ammo, shoot it all and then go back to a SC and get 10k more? Sounds like a waste of time, every good hunter I know just buy 400-800peds of ammo and hunt until the hof comes, then they might consider switching mobs
well… about the 10k - 10k u got it right…
it does not guarantee hof, but it guarantees somehow that the second time there will be money in the lootpool in that area… that ofcourse if nobody hofs in that area while u are at SC
goin back at the SC might help, if u are alone in that area… donno why
about 400-800 ped ammo… well… that should also work, though not everyone can afford that
