hi i’m new here (actualy i signed up for PE probably late 2004 but left) and this is my first post
i was wondering how i could make money on this game without having to pay real-life money
i don’t even know what you call money on PE
please could someone help me i’m realy wanting to get on and enjoy PE but i know absolutely nothing about PE
could someone help me?
Ask Leafren, he ‘claims’ to not have made a deposit ever.
As for me…either make a 100USD dep, once a month, or save time and deposit 5 K right away to save paper on the CC bills, lol… :rolleyes:
Im one of those non depositing noobs that have played without a deposit since 2002. And basically the key to making this is watch your money and get good at trading.
Its much easier to do now though since all you have to do is collect a good amount of sweat, I say around ~25 ped or so and then go into looking at mineral prices. Learn at what prices they sell around normally and then if you see someone selling it below the average price buy buy buy. Then sell off the minerals and viola profits.
After sometime you can begin doing this with weapons and armor. Also be very carefull if your not depositing to not get carried away with hunting or trading. I also made this mistake once.
All in all though if you dont have the patience to get the ped to start off with, depositing is the way to go.
As soon as I land a summer job the first paycheck or first 100 USD is going into PE

Have some ppl been able to escape deposits into game? Yes. Is it possible to deposit only small amounts into game? Yes (I have done it for 2 yrs now)…
But think of it this way… you can try and try to escape depositing, but don’t get pissed off if it doesn’t work for you. Deposit $15 a month (the typical amount it costs to play a mmorpg) and be careful with your money… you’ll have fun and you won’t go broke in doing so

and yes, its hard to srurvive w/o depositing, but possible
deposit some and enjoy playing the game…
If u do that, you won´t be dissapointed if the ridiculous big piles of money don´t show up on your PED-card.

I’ve recently noticed how many people ARE making it without depositing. I have three guys in my soc that i call ‘the three stooges’ (they are all friends in meatspace), none of them have deposited a dime, and one of them has full vigi with plates! i still havent gotten all the info out of him as to how he has made it so far, but i know that he likes to mine in pvp3, pk’ing for cash as he goes. he also likes to take over the oil rig on occasion. i’m sure the fact that hes using a very cute little female avatar doesnt hurt!
Another person i talk to on a regular basis said that he was sweating, and an uber came along and befriended him. The uber player gave him equipment and money for hunting, and let my friend keep 20% of the profits. then my friend gave the uber skill chips full of handgun, rifle, and longblades skills. skill farming, anyone?!
there are plenty of amazingly resourceful people out there, making it happen without a deposit. I am not one of them. somehow i manage to hemorrhage peds in PE, and other people make it with no deposit.
so even tho i dont have real answers for you, i can tell you without a doubt that it is possible. but like Svetlana said, deposit 15 bucks a month! MindArk deserves it. they have made an incredible world for us, so i see my money as being well spent.
of course there will come a day that i am self-sufficient, but that day will not be any time soon, and i accept that. I’m having a total freakin blast!

My two pecs…if you do decide to deposit,try to be realistic with your expectations as to what the game will bring to you. Don’t be fooled into thinking that depositing huge sums in the begining will get you ahead of the game quick.
I have irl freinds that went that route and now they regret it…
Play for fun, don’t go looking for HoFs and they will come to you.
