How I fixed my graphics Card for the update

I’m not saying it works for everyone, but it totally changed everything for me.

I’m using Nvidia, but some might have other graphic cards installed

  1. Right click on the desktop and choose AMD Software - Adrenalin Edition.

  2. Change the setting for Entropia Universe to Default (Global Experience).

  1. Go to the normal computer settings: System / Display / Graphics and click on “Add desktop app” next to “Add an app”.

  2. Go to Windows (C:) / Program Files / Entropia Universe / bin64 and add the Entropie exe file to the list of desktop apps.

  3. Click on the drop down for Entropia in the list of apps and set the GPU preference to High Performance.

After a restart, the game will hopefully load quicker, graphics look sharper and the game runs a lot more smoothly.

I hope it might help some of you

Already made some changes to improve gameplay, didn’t try this one yet.

Ty for the info.

This is what I did after skeptic told me how game runs automatically on integrated processor graphics and not our graphics card. Dam I wish I knew this the whole time maybe didn’t have to buy a good laptop lol. I’m still mind blown on how the game doesn’t run on a graphics card like what’s the point on even having them or recommending them in specs. And they don’t even tell people this so thanks for getting the word out. Idk much about computers on this stuff but I would think MA should want this to run smooth for everyone so it’s weird they don’t tell Microsoft etc it’s a game unless it’s how they stay under the radar or some other reason like that.

I did this yesterday and game runs smoother and every window opens/move with almost no delay, thanks again to the OP.

Happy to hear that it runs better for you too now :flexed_biceps::sparkles:

Curious to know how many people complained about performance while playing with the wrong GPU

If these options doesn’t work, it is possible to disable it in bios as well. “Disable internal GPU PC model” usually works well.

Everyone who experience bad performance should check this. Ctrl + shift + ESC and select performance and see which GPU is being used.

To be fair, not everybody knows about this, which is why I shared my solution :skull_and_crossbones::woman_dancing:

Oh I know. I had no clue until someone told me it by pure chance

Let’s keep bumping this until everyone seen it…

I suppose this is maybe getting to be more of a problem for those with laptops?

The common problem you’d often hear about is when people plug in their monitor to the motherboard’s display output instead of their graphics card. You’d think people would realize something is up, but I’ve run into that sometimes when people had issues with LBML and running Entropia through one GPU and LBML on another. It’s caught some people off guard for sure.

I do wonder if this is partly why so many people complain about graphics/stuttering issues with EU. I tried my old onboard graphics once 10 years ago and it definitely wasn’t fun.

Id think so but doesnt a lot of desktops come with integrated graphics as well?

That monitor thing i had no clue about until a few months ago. I have been thinking about getting a new screen for a long time and Claude had just helped me run a memtest so I started asking about the graphics card because someone once mentioned that a 4k screen can kill performance.

Was told by the damned AI that first and foremost I need to figure out whether or not the hdmi port is to the dedicated or integrated card to make sure it would perform properly and that wasnt easy (because im lazy and didnt want to bring the laptop to the TV and check).

I think a lot of us laptop owners expect simple plug and play much like with consoles.

I have a newer Victus gamer laptop from last year and never had issues with Entropia or any updates until now. I didn’t expect any issues either tbh, and was a bit surprised, but this solution fixed everything for me :innocent:

I didn’t have any major problems with 19.10.0 but 19.10.1 just dropped this morning and I’ve spent most of the morning troubleshooting, clearing shader cache and other stuff.

What seems to work for me is turning GPU Accelerated UI Rendering off.

My video card is an rx580

I turned off UI gpu acceleration off and it seems to be working now was getting like 1 frame a minute at times

I have a high end rig and until I switched off gpu acceleration the game was caching all my system memory until the lag became impossible to deal with. Works fine now.

If you did everything in the OP and still have an issue, check that the software is actually up to date. It may incorrectly show as being up to date but might be behind several releases. Still stuck? Go in the game’s folder, clear shaders and also reset quality settings from client loader > Tools.

Thank you for putting these together Lykke :hugs:
