How do n00bs sweat now?

I tryed something funny Out last Night. I piked me randomly 2 Guys in Orange and went South PA blocking a Animal for them while Awnsering their Questions.

  1. Mob was Free and for Every else Mob i charged 10 Sweat/Person from them payed bevore blocking the Next one. Made this a while and we had some Fun but after Repairs i realized i havn’t become richt at all  Gained 100 Sweat had Armor Repair of 2.32 Ped btw selling sweat @2.4/Each g

It was Fun and maybe someone with higher Evade than 400 can make Profit by this. Profit or not it was nice to Chat with them and i will do it again. But next Time i have my Lootet Pixie Goblin and Kobold Armor Parts and a few Jester D1 in Inventory trying to sell them haha

You should also Try out, its a good way to make new Friends and maybe get rid of your Storage Stuff no one else wants ,)

I think harder sweating is good opportunity for mentors. Get disciples, get fap and let them sweat while you train evade. You can teach them same time and they can earn their first jester and ammo that way.

Yea i think thats gonna be my plan.

Also something to keep in mind. Newbs dont know how easy it was a VU ago. I did some teaching last night and they thought it was reasonable. Some complain but they are the ones that are like “What do you mean i can play a game and get paid for it” type.

Most of my newbs sweated at first got some free skills and PED figured out hey this is fun and deposited. Thats the general way it should work.

my thoughts exactly. what i think MA has done, is encourage more social interaction between ubers and n00bs. ubers get to skill evade, n00bs get to sweat. i was running around last night, and i saw this situation several times.

trapping and sweating was retarded, and was autoclicker friendly. the new way takes more skill, thought, effort, etc… and encourages community.

so yeah at first i thought ‘what the hell is MA thinking?!’ but as usual, it seems they seem to know exactly what they are doing. i say, nice work. this is an excellent change.

One of them was me  ennytime again

Answering the title question.

As I said earlier I prefer to sweat alone. But it is true that one can not sweat a big mob now without being killed. So I sweat snoblesnots, combibo and exarausors. If it attacks before concentration is finished I just run into water or to the town defences. Then I get concentration on dead mob and try another one. During sweat gathering I let it hit me but it is one time maximum with these slow mobs. Next phase depends on my health. I either run to regain the distance and try again or run to kill the mob with water/town cannon. Then I walk back from the river/town to heal and look for fruit.
It takes a lot of time, true. Still better than so called “team work”. I tried it. Running even more, sweating succesfully even less.

Mind you I do it only when I run out of money for hunting. If I have a working axe I kill the mob instead of running from it. But nowadays I would always try to sweat it first.

And not that I don’t want to deposit, I can’t. For some reason my VISA autorisation returned an error cod and PayPal is not accepted any more. :frowning:
Western Union and the like are out of the question because they about double the sum that I need to spend to deposit 200 PED.

So thanks to everyone skilling evade. I did use it couple of times.

The sweat problem can be solved real easy and can be a boon to all. My proposal would be to make sweat lootable. Whenever someone new enters this game, and until x amount of skills are obtained, sweat should be the only thing looted. That would accomplish several things…first of all unless he/she gets a job from within PE, he/she needs to deposit a minimal amount…10usd.

With that small deposit he/she can get a low end weapon, some cheap armor and hunt for sweat. The sweatloot should be given out in the same way as any other loot. Also as an enticement they should get minis, globals and hof’s. This way they get used to the types of mobs they can handle and gain valuable skills need for later normal activitys and supply the game with needed sweat. I believe newcommers should obtain some kind of apprenticship before going in to the big time. It would also keep anyone from overspending, thinking they will hit the big time and then finding out their losses due to their inexperience, quiting, and in turn giving the game a bad reputation, claiming “its a rip off”.

Also to us hunters, how about instead of “no loot” we get some sweat instead. I dont know about you, but I would rather get a few bottles of sweat then the dang “there is no loot here” garbage.

Well not wanting to just put down your idea… I offer these problems to the above scenerio… take this as coming from some1 who has been in game long enough to know why some of these things wouldn’t work :girl:

The great appeal about PE is that it does NOT require an initial monetary investment. If MA were to make it mandatory to invest 10 USD that would eliminate a LARGE % of the current population… many ppl have started out in this game with nothing and have been able to sustain themselves quite nicely over time. ALso, many ppl like being able to explore PE for the first few weeks or months without depositing to see if it’s worth it for them. You may disagree from a personal standpoint, but still PE is quite different from other mmorpg’s in this regard and it has proved to be a good characteristic.

Requiring ppl to hunt is also out of the question imo. Some ppl never once hunt in game. They choose to trade, mine, or craft  sweating is a nice way to enable newbs to get just enough ped to purchase a beginner set of hunting or mining equipment without a necessary deposit.

I agree with you that newbies should think of their initial months on Calypso as a test of sorts… rather than just pour money into game and cross their fingers for the best. But I do not think MA can do anything (nor would they) to stop ppl from depositing large sums up front.

As for sweating in loots for all hunters, I do not see the point. I don’t know many avid players that would take the time to go and sell sweat anymore for a mere few pecs or ped. And there would not be a use to tt it either since it’s value is 0. I guess if I looted sweat I would just give it to some poor newb so he could enjoy it… so it would serve me no purpose other than to be giving, which I can do by giving a newb some hides or skins anyway

OK- sry to rebut everything. As I said, I’m not putting down your ideas… but I think it’s tried, tested and true that the current system of no required deposit works best :girl:

Svetlana you need to reread my post which stated:

“first of all unless he/she gets a job from within PE, he/she needs to deposit a minimal amount…10usd.”

Which means that they can find someone in PE to give them a way to earn ped’s by offering work. The 10usd was a figure off the top cause I’m not sure if there is a minimum deposit in PE. And if you go out and sweat mobs, in a way your already hunting anyway. I was addressing the sweat problem, this is not to say someone couldnt start off crafting or mining. Now if you as an individual want to be charitible then thats fine by me, and just to let you know I give a lot to newcommers by giving crafted Jesters and Pixie/Gob armor, I call it a welcome gift. But anyone comming to this game and never deposting is a freeloader on the depositors in this game.

There is no such thing as free in this world, we set a bad example to young people by saying its so, cause its a lie…someone has to pay. I also believe that anyone under legal age shouldnt be in here in the first place, considering the adult content in this game.

So noobs would basically lose free sweating ability totally and then get 0.00 peds valued loots until they have spend enough money…

I see mostly just pitfalls there. If sweat prices fall (I could imagine there would be more sweat then) then noobs would lose always 100% of TT value and would be really hard position to get money at all (more sweats per loot wont help into low sweat price).

Now the only way is the"Visa" way..

[/QUOTE]

Well, you need a Visa to get work privileges in many countries - why should Calypso be any different

Why do some People Think newbies Harm the Economy ? They are the most Important Part who keeps the Economy alive ! Newcommers have nothting and have a lot of Needs.

Sweating don’t Cause any Loses for MA, its just Shuffeling some PEDs around between the Communety who flow back Instantly to Jester and Armor Sellers
Its also Generates a nice Income for MA by Decay and Ammo whats Payed from the Others who Pay the Newbies for Sweating. So no need to Change it. PE Advertise with the Idea of being able to Stay here totally Free. Most of them will Pay later. But its very Important you can get Free Monney in the Beginning to see the Economy Working feeling the Taste for more.

It worked for me, so why not for anyone else

The Idea Newbies can Loot only Sweat. How about the ones who Deposit ? They still have to loot just Sweat or they instantly lose the Ability ?

I think everyone is fine by now. PE Still lives from the Massive Sweat Deposits
collected bevore VU. Lets see in a few Weeks how Things going on maybe Sweating need a tweak.
