I started playing the game around about a week ago or so and have so far put in 50$ (stupidly!), my skills are increasing but I am still wasting money!!
I hit 1 global though so that was quite good, hit an oil deposit of 4400 barrels which worked out around 150 ped (still not broke even though, including that lot I have spent 650 ped so far with not much gained apart from skills!).
Whats the good basics to buy?
Currently I have:
Full Pixie Armour
A3 Punisher with Omegatron 103
Mining tools (ore and enmatter)
Axe 1x0 (which I need to sell as it is costing more in repairs than anything I own!)
Lesser Teleport Chip which is implanted
I don’t seem to be making much in terms of ped, I obviously go small hunting (no atrox for me, those buggers are terrible to kill ) and mining but don’t seem to be picking up much.
Also, I stupidly signed up to have a mentor, my mentor is lazy and has so far done nothing to help in terms of training or given much advice (in fact when I was hunting teleports he let me die because he was pre-occupied with hunting instead of just getting me and another of his pupils to billys). How do I remove him?

If you have been playing for a week I think you are stuck with your mentor. If there are questions that he can’t answer, pleace turn to these forums and we will help you out. Search funktion is great!
The gun you are using… Sell it and buy an Opalo and maybe a Mann MPH.
Save the axe, u can use it when you get out of ammo. (And maybe try the tt short survival en-blade, god for skill bonus and melee damage skilling, nice way to get your HP up)
About the TP-chip… Its a nice toy but do you really need it? Take the implant out, sell it and you will have an extra 20 ped for ammo. Save the chip for later. Sell the mind essence.
Keep on hunting the smaller mobs and keep mining, you got lucky one time maybe you will get lucky again?
would say the same stuff as heartbeat.. ur way to early using amp and A3 downgrade and when u get some 2k rifle strat using mk 2 etc.. ur not using the wep to the full so might aswell have a small waste than a big..
Yeah the tp chip is an expensive toy, but it is very essential, especially when you get stuck at some outpost that is a nightmare to get away from!!! (north east of where those zombie things are springs to mind where I got stuck for over 3 hours, along with about 60 other people!! ). It is only used in emergency, only reason I keep it
I was thinking about getting the sword, this should be better than the axe, the axe is no good, you kill 3-4 mobs and it is no longer working, not good at all, and 6 ped to repair, the money is wasted on it
I will take your last advice, I still have 112 ped left or so, but was trying not to spend anymore as I am wasting too much money
I crafted some items, but the cost is enormous, and unless crafting levels above 1 there is no money to be made (and indeed no point in using the items either, cheaper to buy em!)
I love this game though, it is the only mmorpg I have ever played and I am hooked
Hopefully I will find a way to break even, if not sadly I will have to stop playing the game as I cannot afford to spend so much money on the game (I am not interested in making money to take away, just break even so I can continue playing the game forever more without having to spend any obscene amounts of money! My friend got lucky with a 1400 ped mining find, wish it happens to me )
My skills are fine for the rifle I think, they are poor sniper or something similar, this not good enough to use that rifle? I can kill the things that look like atrox (the larger things) on my own.

Give the Opalo+A103 combo a try. Your ammo will last a lot longer, you will love the reload time compared to that punisher and you will lose a lot less ammo due to not having enough skills for the gun! And did I mention, you will save ammo!
And I really sugest u get a Mann MPH or a Omegaton 2201 for the last shot! Relod time on these guns are 0.8 sec!! Amp it up when you loot a 101 and you can take on even bigger mobs only loosing one ammo/fire. :wise:

IMHO Ditch the axe, get the sword. I started with a Castorian En-blade 1 and worked my way up from there. The swords, in my opinion, are MUCH better than the axes. I still use a sword(Kat. Valor) as my main weapon. I only use a gun to pull mobs in closer. (I can take out an Atrox provider fairly easy. Been playing for about 4 months.) Good luck with all that you do!:tiphat:
Always a problem when you first start playing PE is that you want to try everything. To be expected, and to lose money is to be expected too
I wouldnt recommend removing the implant, as its cost you 2 ped to insert it in the first place. Removing it is only going to cost you another 2 ped, and if you eventually want to use an MF chip it will cost you further 2 ped to re insert (6 ped total lost). Just stop using the tp chip. Even the hardest outpost is possible to escape from and should be fun and give you a feeling of joy when you finnally escape. See them as a challenge !
Stay away from crafting if you dont want to lose all your funds.
I use an axe but cant actually find a chart for mellee weapons, Normally I hunt cornus (north of fort argus) and argos I tend to just about break even i suppose i would if i were to get of my ass and seel some of the looted items aswell :silly2:
I use a d1 to pull them in and have two sets of armour goblin and paladin(but wish i got rascal instead)(but atleast i look good in the paladin :tongue2: )
