First off I would like to say a big ‘hello’ to everyone, this is my first foray into RPGs of anykind since the original Zelda. My brother-in-law refered me here and thought I would check it out.
But I have run into a problem, when I log in, it will go through the title screen, but usually when I start to edit my avatar, it will freak out and crash. Sometimes I am able to be on the avatar screen for a few minutes, other times it doesnt even make it that far.
see if all requirement screens in client loader are green, also try turning of firewall for short while, (if it helps then fine tune it a litle),
also accept all settign s qucik and try to make it into the game, cause that startscreen u ll get just once , aftehr u made avatar game will load without it
if all fails, mail support, this support actually answers mails
Okay, it says the driver isnt compatible ‘Unknown, build 3762’ is what I get… then when I click ‘Click for info’ i tried downloading both of the drivers, but none of them work… any ideas?
Check what your GFX card is, Mine is actually an Intel GFX card, I don’t tend to have too many problems with it.
Right click on your desktop, go to properties, then go to the settings tab, then click the advanced button, then go to the adapter tab. From there you will find out exactly what vid card you are useing, and should be able to use that information to find newer drivers for it

So you have in integrated gfx gard on your motherboard. You most likely wont be able to run PE, or if you can, just not very well. Lower all the settings, including your connection speed, and see if that helps. If not, you may have to go out and buy a graphics card. You can get one to run PE for super cheap. I used to run an ATI 9000Pro and now you can get one for like 20 USD.

Heh, I guess I should have mentioned that mine was also integrated. worst problem I have with the newer Intel card is I lose all the plant life, and that is arguabley a good thing
Anyway, since it is an intel card, one of the tabs in advanced should be Intel(R) extreme Graphics, or something of that sort, there you will find a button named Graphics properties. Pressing this should bring up another window with a bunch of different options, including the all inportant, Information button.
Click on that button, and then select the support tab, and in there, there should be a link to get the updated drivers.

Yea, you should probably go with Khrinn’s advice. :wise: I was not able to get my integrated gfx working for PE, and since I started Ive upgraded cards twice now. You will need a decent amount of RAM I think to make up for not having a dedicated gfx card with built in RAM, but who knows. go Khrinn go!

Thats where mine directs me to… Write down your information from the adapter tab in advanced properties, then punch it into that site, and you should get what you need
Go to the link, on the left side of the screen you will see Graphics, move from there to Desktop Graphics Controllers, and select Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller, from there you go to select your Operating system, Windows 2000, XP whatever, then choose the newest version of the driver to download.
If you are running Windows XP, and the update semi screws up, you can reboot in safe mode, go to the advanced properties screen, Then click on adapter tab, Then Properties button, Then Drivers tab, then use the Rollback Driver button. Only if it tries to screw up though
If you are actually past the Avatar creation screen, you might be getting booted strictly due to Graphics lag from Port Atlantis, One way to fix this is to increase the amount of virtual memory your system is using, It won’t be fast, but it might keep you from being booted. The other way I can think of, is using a faster/better computer to get OUT of PA lol, then logging back in on your system (this is what I did at first, just because it was sooooooo slooooow lol Of course, I have access to a better machine :p).
