I started playing yesterday - after reading the forum for about 2 weeks. I deposited 100 PED and started with buying my beginner equipment: a solomate opalo, enmatter equipment, some probes, some ammo and a survival enblade.
After running around a bit, minig here and there, killing some mobs and sweating a bit I tried, to find someone to group with in Port Atlantis, because I found out that hunting and sweating is much more fun (and a lot easier!) if you do it in a group. But I wasn’t lucky: I asked some “orange newcomers” and also some older players in armor, but noone seemed interested in grouping… I gave up after half an hour
Is it normal in PE that people are no intersted in grouping? Where do I have to go to find “beginner groups”?
you could always play with yourself instead.
heh, people like to teamhunt with people they trust, so that incase an uber item is looted, they know it’ll goto auction and be split among the teammates..
there are cases of one person in a team getting a good loot and running away with it, leaving the rest of the team fuming mad. =/
lots of people are social though, and once you get to know them and/or join a soc, teamhunting is fun. =)
the beginners at camp phoenix are usually up for a berycled hunt or something, join them
Not everyone is in-friendly in PE, just takes the right person to give you a helping hand. Lot’s of times i’ll revive at an outpost and there will be 2 or 3 of them there who have been trying to get to the next TP and just can’t seem to do it. I will create a team and set all loot/items to random that way it’s an even flow of loot/items and I always try to help those that can’t seem to make the next TP. I play PE to help as much as possible, never know, someday the person you helped might HOF and look up some of those to share the wealth…not likely but it could happen. If you ever see me in game, i’m always up for a group hunt.

having a newbie freind to grow up along side you is an excellent idea, but many newbies just run to camp phoenix, sweat for abit, then quit. THIS MUST CHANGE! Newbies should advertise in p.a for a buddy, it would be great for them.
Another idea - for you, would be to join one of many newbie societys, that way you cant intergrate with players at the same level as you, and grow up together.
Ohhhh… I wish i was still a noob… well, i guess i still am…
Good man for bringing this issue up, it needs discussion  +rep
i always had somebody to teamhunt with since the very beginning, but if you dont know anybody it may not be that easy i guess
i have made some good friends that just asked to hunt together coz the mobs were a little too big for us (at the time, now with critical hits too big = just too big:p) and after that we just get together sometimes to hunt
u just need to go to PA (or phoenix when you get there) , stand somewhere and shout: “BUYING: friends, tt+teamhunt, will trade for friendslist!” :dunce:
I can see where it could seem difficult. I’m lucky in that my wife plays, so we typically only play when we can be together. Hunting solo gets pretty old, and sweating solo can be pretty dangerous (not that death matters, except for time).
My wife and I have helped out quite a few orange suits around PA, though we got tired of the griefers around there, so don’t work there very often anymore.
If you ever see Soradin and Dreganna hangin out and around, feel free to approach us and ask if you can join us. We’re often just hanging out, and wouldn’t mind helping out some folks. I can’t really say where we might be.. we hunt everywhere from PA, to Atlas Haven, to outside of Hadesheim.
yea actually i recomend not joining a team until you’ve made some descent friends i know there are some that start teams around Camp Phonix and they put it to equal ped and random item distribuition and they fake having keyboard problems and dont fire a single shot and take all the loot.

There may be some more poor nOObs like me not owning even a pocket knife to hunt with … So while waiting for the warm rain of deposited PED’s to arrive all I can do is running around sweating baddies - no team needed.

I’d find myself the places where the more expirienced newbies do their sweating - usually a little apart from the orange crowd - look for plane wrecks, bridges, strange geological formations populated with bigger mobs and sweaters! Stay there for some time, you might find nice people to add to your friend list. And these are best for a team hunt, I think.
Yesterday everything changed… After running around a bit in Port Atlantis, I’ve found a mentor! YES! And it seems as if this one, is one of the “good guys” He helped me to get to Billys and Camp Phoenix and told me to go to the citadel on my own - which I manged after dying some times
We had a group and shared the found PEDs - other loot was shared by the amount of damage done. He showed me how much better it is to play in 1st person mode and so on… and at the end he even trusted me enough to lend me some armor parts…
Just great!
Thanks a lot for your help and I hope to see some of you ingame sooon..
If I feel like going out for a hunt I sure will team up. I prefer to divide the PEDs by dmg determines and set items to winner takes all. Splitting the items after the hunt (evenly) is fairer than random. I can imagine that it freaks out people that don’t know me yet.
