OK- completely off-topic here…
But any1 willing to recommend any films?? Any genre. Any country… just a good film

sveta- dying for a few new titles to add to my collection that are worthy of a place on my shelf :girl:

Who Finds A Friend Finds A Treasure
Pulp Fiction
Seven
Snatch
Lock, Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels
Ocean’s Eleven
Salton Sea
Fight Club (read the book too! more powerful!)
Natural Born Killers
DownHouse
Up In Smoke
Trainspotting
Run Lola Run
Pirates Of Silicon Valley
Quills
The Jackal
Leon
Pirates Of The Caribbean
Hero

These aren’t actually NEW. There are no good new movies :o:

TombStone (one of my all time favorites)
Good Will Hunting (very good movie)
Troy (just came out on DVD, didn’t think I was gonna like it but it was pretty good)

I could sit here and list hundreds of movies I liked, but I’m not going to heh

Thinking about it quickly…

Fargo
Pulp Fiction
Fight Club
Trainspotting
Being John Malcovits
Clockwork Orange
Matrix
Bladerunner
Ghost In The Shell

Great suggestions! I’ve seen most of them, but not all… so I’ll get on it and rent some asap
Btw- my favorite new film is GoodBye Lenin… highly suggest it.

Shawshank Redemption
Donnie Darko
All DisneyAnimated Films
Ghost in The Shell, if you liked matrix and anime.
the 9th Gate
Battle Royale!!!
Equlibrium
A Clockwork Orange
and offcourse… Pirates of the Caribbiean

Nothing’s off-topic in the off-topic forum!

Skam, good reccomendation on Battle Royale.. great movie(too bad the second one is laaaaame). There are better movies along that style (asian shock) though…
Check out Audition, that is one crazy movie. Starts out slow then…
Ichi The Killer is another good one but… It might be a little too crazy/violent, check out some reviews for it.

Also I highly reccomend Electric Dragon 80,000 Volts, that movie is amazing and I think you and Buzzo would like it. Might be hard to get ahold of, not sure. Crazy badass music in it!
http://www.mandiapple.com/snowblood/ed80000v.htm ( Check out the rest of the reviews on the site, this site has shown me many many good movies! )

Suicide Club is a good one if you like crazy David Lynch style movies that… sort of make sense(?)

Hmmmm, let me think about something other than asian movies now…

Buffalo '66 is a good one, dunno how popular it is/was but it definetly is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. But the fact that I have a crush on Christina Ricci might be part of that.

Elephant, GREAT movie!

Dancer in the Dark… oh man I’ll admit it… I cried during that movie. :frowning:

Dawn of the Dead(2004) - The best american horror movie in like 500 years.

I’m out of ideas for now! Bye-bye.

damn I completely forgot about Shawshank Redemption, it’s an american classic IMO!

The Rock
The Matrix
The Matrix reloaded
The Matrix revoultions

Battle Royale is a all-time-fav and I never get sick of seeing it.

I saw Ichi The Killer and I like it about 50%
Its violence is the way its supposed to be, its after all based on Manga Comics, So I didnt have any problem with that. However, there are too many things thats done wrong in the movie. Like Bulletholes that suddenly disappears, a 7 cm blade that can cut a body in two with one slash and so on. Im not one of those thats rewinding and forwarding the movies looking for errors, but this is errors I acctually managed to see when I saw it on the moviescreen

Also another GREAT asian movie is a movie called “Pulse”, I highly recommend it! Its a ghost-film, without any blood but creepy anyway.

For those Cosy-Cuddly moments, Svetlana, I suggest the film “Chocklate” with Johnny Depp. Romantic without really beeing american-style-sticky. French-inspired.. lovely film.

I just saw Elephant, a very special movie, its calm and natural.

David Lynch is a Genius. Offtopic: Did you know that he acctually doesnt just make films, but also furniture (you can see some of his furniture in some of his films), paintings and he acts a little as well. But he hates beeing called a “multiartist”.

And uhm… Dawn of the Dead. Hahhahah I laughed so hard of it
I watched it in a movie in turkey and people around me started laughing as well, I dunno if it was of me or the movie
I mean. That pregnant chick that got bitten. She looked like Dani Filth from Cradle of Filth (a death-metal band). Picture here: http://www.geocities.com/danieldavey/d21.jpg And that Big Chick looked like Dolly Dimples on speed.

Omg she did look like him ! ! !

I haven’t watched Kairo(edit: Pulse) yet, I have it but haven’t watched it, LoL. I keep putting it off by finding another movie to watch instead… I want to see it but.. maybe I just don’t want to watch it alone? 8)

haha we sat in a movie-theater and watched it. You know your watching a good scary movie when the whole audience is screaming at the same time, and not half of them screaming because the whiny guy next to him scared him with HIS screamin!

LOL to Dawn of the Dead guys… will have to look for it!

Hmm- now that I think of it, I never posted some of my all-time favs…
-The Godfather- esp part 1… made me hooked on Brando from the moment my 10-yr old eyes first saw it
-A Streetcar Named Desire- another famous Brando flick
-Monty Python and the Holy Grail
-Clerks- made in my hometown in Jersey
-Festen (aka The Celebration)… my personal favorite from Lars von Trier and Tomas Vinterburg… very twisted, very sad, yet comical all in one. And cutting edge at the time of its release.
-GoodBye Lenin- mentioned it earlier. New German film that is FANTASTIC for any1 interested (or any1 who lived through) the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Hmmm- that’s all I can think of atm… rather late.
Hit me with more ideas guys pls! I will do my best to check them all out

Loved Matrix, but dont care for sequels. They weren’t sincere IMHO, just seemed to me like a way to make money.

Shawshank Redemption - awesome.
The Rock - awesome.
Doors - good movie!
Godfather - classic.
Clerks - classic.
Monthy Python - classic.

Another good movie is “My Cousin Vinny” with Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomey.
Or is it Morisa Tamey? I dunno, she’s a tall hot brunette chick.

Marisa Tomei. I should know, I have a thing for her

As an aside, if you’re really bored and want to watch the worst movies of all time, go to imdb.com and check their Top 100 Worst movies. Manos: The Hands Of Fate is always a good torture option (not even the MST3K* version was entertaining).

While you’re there, check the Top movies too - you might get some ideas.
