Hey guys, I often wonder what PE would look like if (by a miracle or not) it would last let’s say another 20 years.
So… Let’s say we’re it the year 2025 (earth time). And we want to travel to Calypso. I wonder how we would do that. Same as today, from the keyboard of an xxxGhz computer, or using another device (maybe as in the Matrix)?
What would remain of Calypso, as we know it today?
What would the first colonists of the planet look like (as they are much older)? And what do tens of thousands of skills help you when your avatar’s hands are starting to shake, his eyesight has decreased more than 60%, he couldn’t hear an atrox if it would stand right behind him, and most important, when u press Q and try to run, you suddenly realise that your avatar looks like it’s trying to sneak up on somebody :laugh:
:tongue2: Now seriously, if I had the money I’d sustain this project, only to see what it would evolve into.. But with a bit of luck, and some really good employees at MA, maybe we’ll live to see 2025 on our beloved Calypso.

Would be fun if you could wear VR gloves, glasses and boots as an alternative to using computers. Imagine walking around on calypso like that huh? Would be fun 
Would be exhausting to hunt tho. Would be great!! Then you could acctually do fitness fun! YAYYY! I want possible-skamimagined-future now!
I would assume that PE will be so advanced that no video card in existance will be able to play it… wait that’s now… lol…
Seriously though, multiple monitor support at the very least could be doable now. I’d totally like to have three flat panels surrounding me so I could have peripheral vision. Maybe incorperate some sort of force feedback system. (see www.novint.com )… but the future? I think we’ll probably see complete colonization of Amethera of course. They’ll probably add some sort of moon colony or other world. I haven’t been to the space station yet, but I’m sure that will grow. Maybe some added professions such as Nurseing home attendant, or virtual fast food service. So that we can be enslaved in meaningless tasks… just like real world. I’m getting ready to submit my PE tax forms as we speak… and if you think PE social security will last to when we’re old… :laugh:

Would be very intresting to see the future of PE. MA calls in a virtual universe at moment but its realy a virtual world. Would be nice to be able to travel to all the diffrent planets in the solar systeam with as much detail as cylpso.
Btw the matrix thing that was mentioned at the start is called a nural jack and I pray for the day when they are a reality

i think we will be able to travel to far planets, i mean, perhaps even out of the solar system… (probably not, i think thats gonna take atleast 100 years.)

Take into account what has happened in the last 20 years or even the last 5. We went from a puter and harddrive less than a gig and thought it was awsome. to 250 to 300 gigs and still not being enough. Multimedia will trasform your home. Your game will become virtual in every fact. That platform in still in the infant stages but progresses a twice the speed every pear passing. As our technology increases. This is what i can see happening in the next 20 years.
The computer as we know it will not exist. Just like the game we will have enhanced memory modules implanted if desired. Kinda like puting a cartridge into a game deck only will be sllid into your skull. Then the things you experience will be like your on a bad trip. lol you will actually experience all aspects of the game even to slight pain sensor for you when hit by a mob. You will have 3d interactivity. You will be able to see distances and range. Money will also be put directly into accounts theough your personal identity chip. If money even exists in paper form by then. Which I doubt. The will be no tv phone or anything like that. I dont see it being as advanced as the matrix proposes. For the matrix actually uses decarts "system of doubt and has be made into a move. " you can doubt every sense you have. Your touch taste smell sight all can be fooled. All this eccept one thing. The fact you think you exist proves you do exist. Nothing more. " THis is what we will become. Our mind will be the game processor for the future and we will be its Gamepad. Sorry if this was a little deep but just you wait in see.

Well you know what Neo and the others were saying when they were logging in: ---- Hack into The Matrix.
I tried to adapt that to our world so I said “H*** into PE - The future of Calypso” or something like that.

Oh, yea, and I love that thing that they were inserting in their brains too (just that I don’t want to be a beta tester for them when they’ll come out 
). The closest feeling to the virtual reality of PE (matrix like) is when I play like crazy for 12+ hours and then I fall asleep. Then the crazyest thing happens, because my brain still remains connected to Calypso, and during the whole time I sleep I keep dreaming of running around in PE :))

I agree somewhat. I think you will still have a computer. I think that humans will adopt the implementation of technological enhancements. I think you will be “immersed” in the virtual UNIVERSE. If PE exists, it will be just like the real world, only you are role playing. I belive in the future you will work, live, and play in the virtual world. I think this because people are vain. With all our faults and deficiencies. The majority of people want to be someone other than themselves. They can do this virtually. If you’re a big fat lazy slob, you can be buf and benching a Behemoth virtually.
No one will know how fast their computer is, or how much memory it has, or what kind of video card it has. Everything will be one. ALL computers will eventually pool their power together and everyone will share in that. Everything will be portable and unique to you.
Though, if you recall, The Jetson’s was based in the year 2000, so maybe we’ll all be writing about how fantastic it will be in 2050 when technology will be “totally rad”…
