I am trying to get a look at the posts since my last visit. The problem is that the last visit counter has for some reason reset to the current visit.

That sounds like a cookie problem on your side, when you click “New Posts” you should see all new posts since your latest visit.

That happens regularly to me too when Im logged in long time. At some point all “old” new posts disappear and I wonder if some new posts got ignored between “old” and “new” new posts.

Ohh, that’s something different, that’s the “Cookie Timeout” which is set at 15 mins.
Meaning, you have 15 mins to read the new posts, after 15 mins they are set as “old posts”.
There’s also the problem that my 3-year old son plays on my computer and occaisionally clicks on my Favorites link to EF.
Also, there have been more than a few times when I have come to the forum main page and been called away for some reason, only to come back and have all the messages lost.
Even changing the cookie timeout wouldn’t fix those issues.
The search feature I requested would. From the other comments, I don’t think I’m the only one who would like it.
I understand if you may be too busy to deal with this right now. Please remember, I have offered to do the coding for you. As a little reassurance, allow me to offer at least this proof of my competence, on the OSCommerce Forum
