I just wanted to let you know that over the last couple of days I have found your google sheet very handy as a quick reference. So much so that I have printed it out and have it at my side at all times to look up fish and take notes throughout the day, so thanks a lot for that 
I’d like to make some suggestions because I think this sheet could be made more efficient and practical now that more info has been gathered.
There are broad categories of lures evidently and these should be grouped together somehow. For example, for Spoon lures, you basically have 4 ranges: 15m, 25m, 35m and 40m. Testing all of the Spoon lures seperately in all biomes might be a bit over the top and unneccessary. Each Spoon lure attracts a specific species of fish (based on item description text) and so it’s really only neccessary to figure out which one that is for each lure. For example, I have a suspicion that the Striped Baitfish Spoon lure is good at bringing out the Juvenile Predatorfish in a River biome. So that fish probably lives at 35m and so other 35m lures could potentially bring it out as well. If that turns out to be the case, I don’t think we need to test out all other 35m Spoon lures as I think the only difference will just be the Quality parameter (the thing that determines the chance of the fish to bite, meaning the higher the quality, the more often you’ll get him and not some other fish from that biome).
Another category for lures would be the Deep Sea lures. At this time, these would consist of mainly:
a) Lime glowsquid (70m)
b) Electric glowsquid (85m)
c) Red glowsquid (110m)
d) Abyssal fish jig (150m)
I suspect it is pointless to test these lures in Lakes and Rivers as their description specifically states these are designed for Vertical fishing environments.
One category, the Insect bait, states in the description it is designed for fly-fishing for fish that reside near the surface, hence the low depths of such lures. I have not tested this thoroughly but it seems to me that the Insect 3 perhaps brings out the Sturgeon more in Lakes and Rivers. I suspect other Insect baits (1, 2, 4, 5, etc), might bring out certain species of fish more often when used, it’s just a matter of determining which ones bring out which fish specificaly.
Same thing for Spinners, each one must be better at bringing out one specific fish.
Anyway, just my thoughts on the matter and throwing some ideas your way. Thanks for the google sheet!
Nope, it’s WAY easier. I get the same fish on lure, spinner and insect 3 fly, it does.not matter. It seems a very few baits attracts different fish, but all other are just same same from 5m-35m. I did not test deep sea fishing though.
I know what you mean, I also get all the same fish with every lure. But per the description and per experience, it makes a small, subtle change to how often you get one type of fish, you get that one a little bit more often with one particular lure then with the others. This is why there are so many lures, one lure for each fish.
Yes the ball bait quite clearly brings out the Carp, that one is so obvious, but the other lures don’t work that way, they don’t have such a big effect, they just have a very small, subtle effect, and just increase slightly one specific fish, which you were already getting, but now you get maybe 30% more. That could be useful in certain cases, when you can target which fish you want.
well, i wanted to keep it as simple as possible for start,
naturally as i do more and more i’ll update additional infos on sheet, current sample is around 20k fishes caught, why i still need 80k more to compare, and test other baits to see correlation to have proper data inputted in sheet.
why i didn’t yet put depths etc on sheet.
some things like insect 3 and 4 have yielded wildly different results over large sample than for example insect 5 and 6, why i want to test more before making statement.
I do believe we’re gonna see possible changes but for sure fishes released in future updates. why i’d like to keep it simple and most accurate for time being.
I had 464 fish with Red spinner, and your chart needs a small update on this bait type. Probably day time (sun was up, but that doesn’t matter since Caly is one big time zone).
I had 4 charybdis catfish and 4 longwhisker catfish. I also had 10 juvenile calypso sturgeon and 10 atlantian.
I did post in another thread about day/night time. I suspect each fish are either caught day or night (or both), regardless of bait type, since caly is one time zone. That means the sun can be up one place, and there will be dark another place, but time is the same. I am not sure how you recorded your time of day (ingame clock or graphics), so that would be nice to have clarified.
