Okay so I have taken the advice on here and ditched the mining thing, am no longer doing anythng apart from hunting and have so far for last 2 days broken even!!!
Great result, this will keep me going for a while I think, mining is too expensive
Also, my “mentor” finally dropped me, after about 5 messages threatening to go to MA and my “mentor” constantly asking me why, as if he thinks that just doing nothing and occasionally responding to questions 4 hours later is acceptable for the gift (which he claims was only a 5 ped candle).

gratz on breaking even when hunting. Perhaps rather than just say that your breaking even explain to the other newbies that read this forum how you are doing that, so others might benefit
I don’t think MA can or should have to do anything about bad mentors. I believe they already introduced a way to kick people before a certain time. Thats the most you can ask

Okay, how I broke even is this, I spent money on a Rascal Armour Full Kit, bought a 103 amp for my guns, made a mann mph (you can buy them they are cheap I think) and bought a solomon from the tt computer and I have a fap 28.
Basically I go anywhere, I can kill atrax on my own (not to get confused with atrox, those buggers are waaaaaay beyond me!) with the 103 attached to the mann mph (excellent reload times that thing and only uses 2 cells per shot with the 103 attached!).
I just go hunting on my own, I’m too greedy to hunt with my mates (joke, we don’t seem to have much luck hunting together, we killed loads of robots and got nothing for it and bulls and cows and faucerix).
Don’t really have any tips, the only tip really is the equipment, best to start out with Rascal if you can afford it, excellent durability and only ever lose 1.0 damage when facing smaller monsters so you can kill to your hearts content. The 103 I find is also a good add on, I can go hunting and use about 4000 cells before it needs fully repaired (which is quite expensive though at about 40 ped). The mann mph is an excellent little handgun with the 103 attached as the reload times are very quick and allow me to kill bigger mobs and the decay is very slight, still haven’t repaired mine. I also have the solomon just as extra and attach the 103 to it when the mann runs out of cells.
Best to start off small hunting, the area around port atlantis is good (south east) as there are plenty of small mobs but have decent rewards on them.
Thats about it really.
Equipment choice is everythign though, I have spent $70 in 2 weeks and wasted a lot fo that cash on mining and tp chip etc, they have all been sold and am now concentrating on hunting and am breaking even (slightly up in actual fact after expenses of repairs and cell packs etc) and this will alllow me to play for many weeks if it continues

suggest you sum up your online time in a little memo (“C” key
for session time) and try to reduce it to -umm- lets say 25 h per
week. After all, you have a job, girlfriend, and future. Take care
of them, besides of your PE char.
