Having an apartment/house/land area is cool already, but I thought of somthing that might give people a good reason to buy property other than just to put stuff in. Give them a mailbox.
This could be accessed thru the estate terminal that’s already there. Here’s how it could work…
Lets say someone loans you a set of armor or a gun or somthing. You need to give it back to them but its hard to meet up to trade (i.e. they’re out hunting, different time zones, etc). With a mailbox you can drop off the items for the owner to pick up at their convenience. This would work great with societies that aren’t always on at the same time.
For example, I want to borrow someones Mod. Merc. but they’re rarely on when I can login. We make arrangements and they drop the modmerc in my mailbox. I go out hunting, blah blah blah, when i’m done I just drop it back in their mailbox for them to pick up later. This would solve alot of the problems with timing for returning stuff.
It could also be a way to pay people back if you borrow money from them. Just drop it in their mailbox.
It could also be fun. If someone was feeling really generous (i.e. after a 60k HOF) they could go door to door and leave 10PED or some kind of present in peoples mailboxes. Kinda like Santa.
Just an idea to make owning property more lucrative.
PE has a lot to learn from WoW in terms of ingame messaging. In that game there is a mail box in all the common towns. You can message people who are on or offline and even send attachments that include money or items.

I’ve been trying WoW a bit, and the messaging system is awesomly good.

A mailbox would be a really cool idea - I’ve been thinking of a guestbook when I’ve seen some impressive homes I wanted to comment on, but a mailbox would be even better!
I have submitted the idea of a PEmail system ever since I started playing PE over 2 years ago. I too have recently started playing WoW and I must say the mail system in that game rocks! MA does what they want to do and not necessarily what the people (us) want.

The mail system in my other game (not a Blizzard game) also is very useful and effective. They charge a small coin fee, a little more if an item is attached, and they have mail stations in most towns. you can also buy a personal mail system for your house/apartment but it actually pretty expensive and you need a lot of ‘status points’ so only vets can get one.
