Ok I have been a freelancer for a few months now and am starting to get bored ok I have been away from my computer for a couple of months so that adds to it but I miss having people to chat to when online since starting my friend list has a few people on it but few are ever online (I mean one or two at most). And rather then join a soc of which their are many I know, I do not want to join one untill I have hunted or know the people involed. So I propose an Entropia Forum soc any one from here is welcome to join. (Please let me know if (MB) you wish this not to occur and I will close it but I am tired of playing on my own and like to be able to refer to articles and tips on this website :wise: and have people know what I am talking about. Ok I dont know wether im amking sense but if your still a freelancer and looking for a soc come join Entropia Forum Members (EF)
Ok I would like to know what you all think of this idea so please let me know
I wouldnt like that, EntropiaForum is supposed to be a Public forum for all and not associated with any society at all.
I myself have never been in a soc, been freelancing since i started playing PE almost 3 years ago.
Kind of you but i wouldnt like it, and would most likely contact MindArk asking for it to be deleted, so please dismiss it yourself so that can be avoided.

Now thatâs interesting. So if I set up a society called Entropia Forum then you can get it deleted? It must be great to be âwell inâ! If you set up a society called Valiant, can I get that deleted too do you think? Or maybe Iâm not considered âwell inâ enough? Does anyone know if there is a list somewhere of the copyright names that are owned by âwell inâ people and that canât be used for society names? It would be useful to know so I donât end up wasting my time!

lmao lol well said beast, high five to that yeah? but seriousely u can wine aboot it if the owner of entropia forum doesnt want to risk the rep and name of his forum through a society that he has no controll over who joins and who doesnt, imo thats fair enough.
As far we seen, I think this guy, Who wants to make a society named EF. have seen the Succes of the Entropia Pioneers website and/or Society in PE.
But what differs EP and EF. Is that EP in fact started up as an society, And from the time they started. Have been made to an Unofficial âofficialâ forum, Where most topics get discussed.
What we see today, Is that EF has auctually got even more popular than EP, Where it ago in time, Maybe was alot more inactive. Personal, i think this forum has alot more free of speach, and therefore also more âpublicâ than the EP forum is.
I will support MB at his statement about a EF society, As this would reflect this page, as an Society page, instead of an free public forum, for all PE players.
Ofcourse your intentions was not bad, when you though about making a society over Entropia forums, And your idea about, Your by that way, Will get in touch with EF members. But i think this is bad for the forum/website.
Instead i would like to suggest, you try to make it up for an official EF event, (which always are loads of fun, Great ppl!). And by that way, you could meet some societyâs, Who has alot of EF members in it!..
I guess you could easy call it for Entropia Forum users or similar without any problems. Anyway, for respect of MB, I wouldnât do that anyway.
I donât think MA would care so much about deleting it if someone created it though.
I did not want to create it for the success of EF thats not my style but more because I know many of the people in EF are decent people who dont shout abuse.
But it is not a problem I will get tid of it soon as I log on next
and apologies for the referral link whoops not doing to well at the mo

without having checked the legal aspects of it, there might be a copyright issue to name a socety after EF.
If MB has a registered copyright on it, im sure it would be an issue.
However, out of common courtesy and respect of the fellow participants you should ask first and respect the answer, like it appears to have been done in this case

I suggest simply chaning the name to something different
And if you want me to add a link to your soc on the imperial dreams webpage, just send a PM
As others have said it would be proper and polite to not name it after EF as per MBâs wishes.. You have taken that adive and are respectful of that wich is good
You may still want to have your own society and there is advatnates and disadvantages to doing so..
What ever you do either making your own or joining one that is already in existance, but either way it is a decision/choice that should be well thought out and considered.
For making your own society you have more control over who you associate with, hunt with and have as friends and comrades.
It is also can be alot of work and you will get out of it only what you put in.
You have to do recruitment, and interviews of new people, you have to deal with problems and dissagreements between members and you also have to deal with other problems that can effect the image you wish your society to portray (for example scammers, beggers or other types of pains in the ass).
Alot of thought should be put in such as goals, roleplay, names, requirements and so on.
those are the hassles.. now for the benefits..
You can put an end to everybody and thier mom triend to get you to join their society. you can build from start a good set of wonderful friends and the benefits of that (you can get that in a societuy you join too) and you can get time to learn about other societies and get a a chance to get to kow them from a different point of view. and ic can even open optsions for you later on.
If you put the energy into it you can potentially create a a famours (or infamous) and popular soc wich you have everybody wanting to join you instead of you having to recruit (examples cK, nAn, EP, Origin of Symetry and many others) It will certainly be a learning experience, and a rewarding one.
As far as trying to find a society that is suitable that you migth get along with, thats easy. look at people here in EF and what soc it says they are from on ther user info. If you run into people you like or think are cool in game not their soc name too. then ccheck out the soc term for the first piece of info about them, thier description, requirements the member list, who the leader is and if available check out ther web page.
Then start taking to people and hanging out with members of societies you are intersted in and fit the requirements for invite them on hunts or if they invite you go. hang out chat tak, say hi when ya see em and so on.
Eventually ya will get to know more people from one soc you like more than others and would get opertunities to join.
Or.. you can join one of the open recruitment socs, some of them have people that tend to graduate on to otehr well known socs or make thier own. you can join one like that and meet people in that one and eventually create your own among the friends ay meet there.
Either way good luck and hope ya find a a solution that suits you,

First of all, I donât think he should create a soc called Entropiaforum.
Second, I donât think that there are any copyright inside the virtual universe yet. Of course, I am not sure, but we donât deal with IRL inside PE as copyright laws in different countries around the globe.
If someone should know how this works, I guess Marco could answer it or anyone posting a support-case about how copyright laws are inside PE.
I have no problem with the idea of an EntropiaForum Soc, however, I sincerely doubt most members would not join. Not that they would have a problem with it, just that most of us are already in Socâs.
There deffinatly isnt any legal issueâs, I mean, who would bother spending any money on a civil case even if there where any, which there isnât.
I do however feel it would just be plain dissrespect to MB if it was to go a head without his agreement and full support.
I also donât thnk that MB has any issues about the integrity of any Soc called EntropiaForum. Rotten Ice has already shown character by taking into consideration MBâs wishes, full credit to him there.
I think itâs just a simple case of EntropiaForum is the name that MB chose and registered, and after forking out for it, I think heâd kinda like to keep it his, who wouldânt.
Again, hats off to Rotten Ice for showing kindness and consideration.

Anyway; i believe itâs against the EULA to have a society related or based on a Real-life organisation.
That actually also goes with avatar names based on celebrities and public persons (and probably corporations there too), however MA dont enforce it. Bet they would if George Bush came and told them to remove the avatar with his name on it tho..
Doubt it, Iâm sure there are lots of people called George Bush;)

hehe- or⌠Jenna Jameson
Anyway, my two cents on the subject⌠nice that you feel so connected to the EF community RottenIce. I think itâs fabulous that you would like to share your ingame experiences in soc with the ppl youâve come to know/love/hate on forum No worries if it canât be named EntropiaForum for a number of reasons⌠you can still get together with ppl on the forum and begin a soc or join an existing oneâŚ
For my soc, most all of us partake in EF (indeed, all of the active players do), and we gained two players in soc directly b/c of our relationship with them on EFâŚ
