About 30 mins ago a Friend told me that Marco has never ever recieved an Email from me! EVER! I have only sent 2x emails to anyone at MA and both to Marco, for the above mentioned.
I have the exact logs but have been asked not to post them.
First thing for you people who want to pick this apart… YES My email works fine I can send to anyone so don’t bring it up!
This brings me to my point…
I accepted the fact that MA would not add our IRC network to the community page. I said to my self fine he wants to ignore it, NP!
But now this brings me to the housing competition… I accepted the fact that I lost and didn’t realy worry about it. But if I lost because some stupid filter Marco or MA uses is stopping my emails then this is BS! I’m sorry but it does bother me. I only wanted a chance to compete, but if my email was blocked then I had no chance! Ever, Nadda, Nothing. I dumped 10k ped into “Rogue Plains Hanger #20” for a chance to win. Ontop of that there as probably 100k ped worth of shit in there to OOGLE at. If I lost because they just didn’t like it, thats fine by me. But if I lost because of some damn spam filter then thats another story.
Marco I need some responce to this. It doesn’t have to be in this thread, it can be private. But I need a responce, a personal one, not some MA responce one.
I would also like input from you guys at the forums. I don’t care I lost the housing competition, but hate the fact MA might not have even have gotten my entry :mad:
An autoreply feature (or a seperate email address) for the competition might have been better. People like to know for certain important mails reach their destination ok. Even though no mailer daemon may have sent anything back, a spam filter on MA’s end may have caught mail without notice. Who knows
The filter on that mail adress probably filters all mails that doesn’t have ‘contest’ or ‘portalpage’ as subject
To mail marco personally use the firstletter of his name + the first letter of his familyname @mindark.com
Hmm. Did you try sending an email to him with a read receipt? That’s what I do with any important business emails where I need to know the person received it.
Otherwise, it is unfortunate that your contact claims he never received the email.
Behrmann never answered for like 3 months though he answered me before .
I wanted to put this forum on the Community page in the client: http://www.playmmo.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=95 and sent like 5 mails with no response at each of his emails.
Your entry for the contest was in the race and was one of the finalistst even. The comment I made was that I havent read all emails directed for for the last couple of weeks for various reasons.

Not wanting to put excuses into MA’s mouths I had a similar problem recently.
I was sending mails to several people - 3 of them were on the same domain.
I had no replies from these people so I got a bit worried.
I also have an email address on this domain, so to test it I sent a mail to myself. The mail sent okay but I never got it on the other account.
After a bit of digging I found that the problem was that the server ip address my sites are on had been blacklisted by a 3rd party “blocking” system which this domain were using.
My mails were being sent but they were getting blocked and trashed before they reached the desination, and I wasn’t being told. The only solution was for my web host to move all my websites to a different server.
Oh one more thing… Does this mean that I get my link to the community section of the CL? I don’t mean barried on second page I mean first page along side Entropia Forums!
If it does I’ll resend you the icon and description, if you’ll get it this time that is.
I would like to note this entire episode has completely ruined my day

Faust took like 6 months for most of the updated ones to reach the site.. i know for me to get the nAn site up. I dont think the PE website is exactly easy to edit casue it’s all like java script and stuff not just easy html (like how marco has to put an image of his email address instead of just the text) It’s probbably takes Marco telling some web dude what to do which getting 2 ppl in a busy company trying to crank out another VU probably is hard.

That most likely was done to prevent the address being grabbed by automated bots that scan for E-mail addresses in webpages. If it’s an image, the bot (or spider as they are sometimes called) will fail to grab it, thus reducing the amount of spam Marco gets.
It’s the same reason as why some people in newsgroups etc post their e-mail as me at somemail dot com.

Yes. sadly, because of spam, email has become an nearly useless form of communication because it is too unreliable .
Though i’d rather not have email at all than have email whith spam
I read some time ago that some spam block lists had to block all spanish ips because the public telephon comp. dident care to ban spammers on their network

You know that if just one spam gets through the filters, such a feature flags your email as active in the spammes system, likely generating large amounts more. (why do you think all spam has an ‘unsubscribe’ link?) Also not all email clients support the reciept system(s) of others, and many users disable it.

Usual most valid mailboxes of MA should accept mails.
Only bad there is no “noreplay” responder on outgoing mailboxes i know :\
