Heh.. in WV the āroadkillā law, is related to deer. If you kill a deer with your car you can take it home to eat, in or out of season. ![]()
No point in letting it go to waste. Damn deer. Kill them all.
Least someone found it interesting
I find the āIt is legal for a male to have sex with an animal as long as it does not exceed 40 lbsā in wv a lot more⦠uh, interesting
And the dumbest law of them allā¦
drumroll

Now playing in Ireland, California, New York and many other unfortunate establishmentsā¦

Leafren here in the US some bars⦠50% or more would simply go out of business if this was to happen everywhere. Maybe if they made it where you can have your bar smoking or non smoking and it is up to the individual to make the chouce not the government. Food establishments I can understand same with malls and such is fine. But for most drinkers smoking goes hand in hand. I know some ppl who ONLY smoke while drinking and never any other time.
Where I live, there was a restaurant/bar that was non-smoking except on patios (which is basically the current law). Before the law was enacted, they were packed beyond capacity. Now, theyāre struggling.
But I suppose letting the free market solve things like this doesnāt work, eh?

Well, a bar maybe be a public place to an extent, but it is still private property. An owner can deny service to anyone. So if he wants smokers he should be allowed to have them. If you wanna talk about hazards to ppls health then FFS we need to take alot more things away then just smoking in bars. If the governments wants to enfore healthy living and no freedom.
I speak for the US here by the way, what you guys do in other countries I could honestly give a shit about ![]()

The legal issue in many places have been that bartenders etc workers have been exposed to smoke. Imagine any work place where you are required to inhale poisonous gases without any extra money.
In Finland all bars have now non-smoking bar stand and at least some % of total restaurant area totally non-smoking.

Remember that employing laws are not as loose everywhere.
Basically bar owner would be somewhat responsible for any cancer or such his employees get there. Which would mean higher insurance costs and potentially getting sued etc.
Basically Im quite happy with model we have here. There is separate properly air conditioned section for smoking. Smallest bars (where thereās not reasonable to have sections) can be totally smoking or totally non-smoking. After bar night clothes and hair dont smell like they used to some years agoā¦

I speak only for the US. I would have no problem having seperate sections in a bar for smoking and non smoking. But to deny service completely would just close down your local pub and then you have nothing, either for smokers or non smokers who gather there :wise:

I somewhat doubt. Ppl would just go outside for a smoke and then come back in.

No, I would not. Iāde just stay at home. Trust me Iāve spent enough time in bars to know the ppl that go there.

Are you reading everything? If so I figure your just locked on the subject of screw it make everything non smoking including your backyard as the smoke may waft over to your neighbor and kill him! They tried this in Montgomery county in the state I live in. It went to the leveles of insanity and ended up being abolished. PPl tried law suits it was just insane. If you want to live your life free of anything that could possibly hurt you buy a bubble and a 10 foot thick safe and lock your self inside of it. Add all the amenities, Iām sure with todays tech someone can make it if you have enough money ![]()
Faustian is right about people thinking that smoking goes hand in hand with drinking.
I know a lot of people who think and do it that way(and I donāt live in the US)
Although smoking is something you do on your own, excluding āpassiveā smoking which is more hazardous to your health than āactiveā smoking, I believe they see it as a social āactivityā.
I have a few friends who ONLY smoke when they go out, be it at a bar or a dancing.
But this thread is going towards a debate around smoking/non-smoking ![]()
OT :
