Ok i ve made two seperate threads for these 2 subjscts. I’ve inculded the original comments i made so we can vote on them properly
An idea i’ve discussed with various people is the idea of being able to share map info. This would be especially handy during society hunts where not all the members have the same map info available. If you join a society then you should be able to share map info with other membes and be able to see other members of your society on the map, so that newer people starting off as disciples and joining a society are imediately given a bit of a boost. I think that this would help out newer players more and may encourage more of them to join societies. Also you could do the same with just ordinary teams but it could be an option that could be set by the team leader??
I think that being able to see soc member locations on your map is a good idea to an extent - but maybe it could be something that individual soc members could turn on or off, for privacy’s sake.
More map features would be great… not certain exactly what i would like to see, but at least being able to mark different areas on your map (say for mining purposes, etc) would enhance it imo.
i also think it would be cool to have liek an ingame journal, so you can take notes and such, then share em with other people… rather than having to use pen and paper

This is exactly what I wanted to say, thanks Rain Man for saving my time
I’m not so sure about map sharing as acquiring map details is a necessary part of the training of a new avatar.
I love the journal idea though and most of all the ability to link a journal to a map view, or a function like ‘STORE MINE DETAILS’ a bit like the info on a Deed where it brings up the map section with the place marker on it, it should also have date and time of find.
Another idea for this lala land function would be a storage threshold, I mean if you’re a noob then you can store every find from ‘Modest’ up, then as you increase in skill you slide the threshold up to Medium and everything below drops off the list. This way it would tailor itself to the user.
Mmmm, now I can go back to my big pile of paperwork and figure out where that 200PED Cumbriz find was and if it was 40 or 50 days ago !!! :dunce:

I think i would be kinda cool to see where a soc member is hoffing with mining though. :tongue2:
I think sharing map info is a good idea, as long as no teleporters are shared. Collecting teleporters is what I consider the break in period for new players, and is very important to their continued play in PE.

I have to agree with this, unlocking the TPs is an important part of exploring. But having a map that could be marked with your own areas for mining and such would be cool. And the soc members being able to select weither the other members can see their location sounds good too. Other than that I can’t see why there would be any problem with map sharing.
Even with marking tps (and outposts), its still difficult for noobs to get around. Many of them also go online and find maps with them marked anyway. Its not like you would be able to use the TPs. All they would have to do is add aditional map categories that the shared item belong to. That way they show, but would not function the same as getting the TP point.
If you need to meet someone at x by y coords, then you can mark them on the map, and in the visuals you will see a massive column of light showing you the way to go. I think they had this in planetside or galaxies (can’t remember which) and it made it real easy to find things, people and places.
Being able to store various coords too is a must have and being able to turn a way point on and off for them also is cool too.
