CH Hunting Log 1 Exarosaur

Hello there!

This will be first part of my hunting log series.

Daily routine: 2-4 hours or 500-1000 kills per day. In total 140 hours or 35K kills. Might have slipped + somedays :stuck_out_tongue:

My aim with these logs is to bring some clarity for new players.

So they roughly know what to expect loot wise and why it is so important to track your progress and focus on Markup.

This isn’t meant as guide but rather raw datapoint for those who lack empiric hunting experience.

To provide some extra data beside loot returns for new players this hunt utilized Frontier Hunting Rifle Adjusted, Frontier Armor set, Frontier Stimulant PillX3 and Restoration Chip 1 (L).

From the start of tracking first 1-2K kills you can see how much being unmaxed on weapon affect your return. It will go stable once you hit maxed.

I had no skills or former knowledge to what to expect beside what i heard from my RL friend/mentor. Remember 50% skill boost from pills!

Stats before/after Codex rewards. Waited till 25 rank to collect

Total skill points 25748/28637
HP 99/102
Laser Sniper (Hit) 24/24 lvl
Ranged Laser (Dmg) 20/20 lvl
Animal Looter 7/8 lvl
Evade 4/7 lvl
Biotropic 4/4 lvl

Armor bill lowering overtime indicates gains on evade and more situational awarness in combat + how to utilize that sweet (70m) range.

What i would suggest if you hunt these with similar gear:

-No armor for repair cost reason (40 PED) Healing cost will increase*
-Heal chip (MU is loss but o boy 35K kills for (20 PED) aint bad! I know i had armor so it will increase!
-Utilize rifle range (70M) better it really can make diffrence in armor bill and healing.

What is my take away from this?

  • Tracking is vital or you are BLIND
  • Short and long term cycles
  • Low HP and High LVL on mob matter for skilling purpose
  • Markup/MU should be the goal
  • Globals mean nothing, those just balance you out to expected TT return
  • Armor use can only be justified by good MU
  • Stack size required for reasonable AH sale
  • MU lost upon AH sale to fee
  • Do not ignore shrapnel conversion %

All in all this was very positive and educating experience to me!

What next? I’l be hunting something in similar HP/DMG range without armor to see how that goes. Log 2 Here i come!

Mob maturity: Young/Mature
Location: North Swamp Camp → wp/ [Calypso, 61964, 76187, 135, Waypoint]

Globals: X6 = 14,15,20,10,57,16
Codex rank: 25 Done

Disclaimer: Due to tracking tool issues at times, kill steals and random mobs nearby the border of spawn. I’d say there is margin of error 150-350 kills in these stats.

That’s not bad at all for basically no big payback or big hit to average it out a little better, after MU on a crap mob you’re looking at maybe 200p loss on 25,000 kills … a good mob would still be profitable even starting out while just skilling or at least break even. Idk y they stopped these from dropping blazar then you woulda been in real good shape. Nice job

Yeah one of the reasons why i decided to hunt them even tho i knew they arent profitable anymore was:

Older players suggest them to many newbies and it is relateable mob to many.

Blazar defi would have made diffrence. For the hours i spent hunting them the cost wasn’t too bad in my opinion for new player.

Atleast with this people can make up educated decision to hunt or not to hunt.

I’l be cleaning up excel file and OP little bit to make it more readable, posted this in a hurry this morning when friend wanted to see it.

Nice log from a dedicated noobie (not for long is my guess)! Seems like OP has grasped the mechanics of the game better than many an oldtimer.

My two pec response to the log would be:

  • Take the codex rewards asap IF you’re focusing on looter skill (dex/perception/alertness), which is what I’d do to gain sliiiightly better tt returns as you go. It makes even more impact in the beginning, when looter is low, but every codex level will boost it.
  • Keep rocking! I’ll make sure to check this thread for new hunting reports!

Yeah, biggest credit goes to my RL friend guiding me. He invested quite alot time into me even before i had decided my goals or started the game lol.

This was my trial by fire

He offered me couple of routes to proceed depending on how much i was willing to deposit on start. Going for 100lvl looter with juices/codex and right hp/lvl mobs.

But i felt i lack the knowledge and empiric experience not to mention am i really into this game? Hindered me going big right away.

Unless i decide to pick fastest route to 100lvl i was adviced to consider slight evade for repair/healing reductions and then focusing steady for looter skill overtime.

My 2 following logs are suppost to give me more insight on the game mechanics so i feel unpressured about current TT retuns.

Thanks for kind words and valuable feedback! Happy hunting!

… your goal is lvl 100 looter?

Curious, do you have an estimate for how long that will take you?

No it would have been my goal if i was going to deposit what he suggested me to deposit.

All i know is that it matters the most if you have any desire to play the game serious.

In his mind anything beside aiming for 100lvl fast is stupidity. ? I know he wish the best for me but i am not willing to invest that much in one go lol. What if i quit tomorrow or lose intrest? I need to know before i commit.

Nice log.

Tip: If you find a good MU mob, I’d recommend you to NOT to share its info. Since you’d basically only be advertising to others to hunt that mob, thus lowering your own MU in the process.
People will even look at people’s EL profile to see what they are hunting / what they like to hunt to give an idea what to hunt etc.

Sadly because of RCE aspect sharing info about MU (if it’s good MU) is the worst you can do for you personally.

Solid tip!

Doubt i will see too many great MU opportunities on my slow journey thro Calypso.

I need Calypso economy tho, i am aware of Aris and what is trending right now.

Competive point of view skill/gear* i am not ready to participate in that. With space ā€œtaxā€ for security being non justifieable to me. I’d need certain size of bankroll to operate outside of Calypso.

Atm plan is to skill slow but steady, keep cycles on similar range and deposit overtime while gearing up when bankroll gets bigger.

I am yet to see or understand what my friend meant toward my log 2. Hopefully i learn something important! ?

Thanks for advice and Happy hunting!

I’ve always shared the mu moons I hunt and the ways I made ped. All the information is public, NO ONE has a secret ped maker in this game. And if they do they are probably the ones who claim they tt profit and notice a difference in loot composition between cc 3.2 and 3.21 dpp

Very nice thread. Good idea to take it slow and steady and enjoy the journey.

Also, getting an Adjusted Restoration Chip for healing is an absolute game-changer. You could check the level reqs for that and set it up as a goal as well, if you intend to keep playing.

There’s the reason why i’ never used fap.

I am indeed working toward it skill and budget wise.

Kinda ā€œmustā€ tool for any hunter!

Heard MA is planing to add healing chip for starter pack. Seen the item link for it. Gonna be game changer to fresh hunters and good way to work toward adjusted one cost effective.

Great tip and thanks for kind words! Happy hunting!

The one from starter pack should be enough until you start hunting bigger, but there’s quite a few mobs low level with good mu on multiple planets that I’d stick to first. It’s what I’ve been doing on my account after selling. Just starter adjusted weapons and funding my hunting trips from lures/pet sales. Mu will bring me back.

Has been a fun way to play since it’s the houses money now, just shoot when I want. Work on low level codex, except I have a big start in evade/dodge and looters and a easter 22 ring.

So over 4dpp, 69% eff and no armor needed for all these mobs.
