Not a rant but a warning that if you have a similar issue this may be the response you get from MA support

Not to be a nudge, but I’m wondering why you stayed around hunting - while in this condition - for 3 hrs?
You clearly had a problem, which you had pinpointed to the 6a plate..yet you kept hunting and eating the decay. That just confuses me, although I admit they really are stonewalling you and should offer SOME compensation.
I have similar problem, plates are on but dont dont protects, but ofcorse, decay anyway
didnt dare to send support cos i was sure getting an answer like

actually, i didnt pin point the problem to plates until I got the message that it was reaching minimum condition. shortly after the message came i had stopped anyway. next login, 5 plates had returned to my inventory and I thought it was back to normal. It wasnt until i got the mesasge on the remaining plate that i realized I had 6…but that was just careless/forgetfulness on the last one. either way, i continued to play because I wanted to and i am sure ma prefer i continue to keep incurring decay for the things that decay while i am using them. I dont see how that is any justification for paying for a bug that didnt actually do something for me…but whatever…they say i must
