I’ve experienced about the same thing with my Beginner Metal Eq. BP Book some months ago… But i really don’t know what kind of advantages this “upgrade” gives since i didn’t noticed any kind of improvment after this upgrade (except for the look of the book ).
I’ve read a discussion about the same subject on EP a while ago and, as far as i remember, nobody knows what’s this upgrade is supposed to do… Just consider it another “dark area” from MA
It is a sort of ‘hidden’ thing that people dont know much about, it does seem skills related, either from the total QR of the book, or from your own skills. Think of it as a pride issue. The books develop a lot more than the screenshot you have shown! When you get the really nice ones you can think to yourself - “Hey, I’m really good” !
I got that as well a couple of months ago when i had just started crafting. I didn’t pay much attention to it though, i just assumed it has something to do with representing the number of BP’s in the book. Also i didn’t notice the msg.
Always been wondering what the upgrades are for, got my Mech book upgraded atleast once more. It got all the mech lvl 1-5 bps in it so it might have to do with numbers of bps in book.
I think I have an answer about the book upgrade. Found this while I was looking at the “Old VUs Listings”:
“Blueprint Book Appearance Change
The upgrade routine on the blueprint books (when your book becomes more luxurious with more and better blueprints) has been updated.”
As that says there isn’t any bonus of anykind getting the book upgraded it is just a plainly status thingy.
Btw the VU was 4.3 I think. If thats worng it was VU 4.x
its all about how much BP’s you got in your book and how much total QR you got.
try putting in a few 100QR in an empty book and do the same with anotehr emtpy book but with a few 1QR instead and check what triggers it the best ;}
makes you wonder how much it would change if one got 100QR on all Bps in one book.

Yep, I’ve been asking about this periodically since I first noticed it at least 18 months ago. (Not sure exactly when I first raided the issue.) I’ve heard theories but if anyone really knows if there is any benefit, I haven’t heard it yet.
