Can you run and bomb and keep running and you won’t miss the results? So that you are ready to bomb the next site without waiting at the bombsite?
Doh you could ask in your last post.
There is a chance that you gonna find a field with minerals so effective is to drop bombs every like 80-90m (in run bombing) and if you find something then try drop bombs every 45 m from first rod. Then from second…

So I don’t have to be in the proximity of the bomb when it goes off, I will find the minerals in the bombs radius even if I am not in the bombs radius with my detector?
Yes!
Good luck! ![]()
I have found, however, that when one bombs ‘on the run’ one gets less skills than if one stands next to the bomb.
For example, I almost always get a surveying skill when standing with the probe, yet only once in a while if I bomb ‘on the run’
This is not a proven fact, just my experience…
Hmm why run at all I dont get it and it acctually disturbs me some…
Think about it this way is u get a find 50 meters back instead of in the direction ur running that means u have to run back again. lol plz tell me why are ppl running and mining? And why would anyone want to do it?
Most of the time when I am running and bombing
its either to scout new sites or I am running to the next batch of mobs to hunt and figure I will drop a bomb see if anything is there. On occasion you will find a vein that is really spread out run bombing will help you just to cover the distances. With these most recent VUs though I find more ores/enmatters stacked and clustered so if I find something its back to the tried and true walking stopping methods ![]()
That reminds me of something thats odd about mining with probes or bombs in general. If this system of mining with an explosive device was authentic, then moving away from the source of the explosion should give different results, as to how far the detector will pick up the blast radius. The way it seems to work is, where ever the blast originates from, is where it is detected from. That doesnt make sense, you would think since the detector is the recieving device it would be the item of radius detection.
But then again lot of stuff is simplistic in PE, I guess real life skills are not that important to MA, therefore getting skills here is just about how much money you throw at it. Mining would be so much more interesting if it realy had something to do with the terrain and geology. The way it is now, you might as well figure your mining on a flat piece of paper and disregard your suroundings, its realy boring as hell.
This virtual universe would be lot more interesting if some real skills were involved. But then again, MA apreciates the fact that any dummy can put a coin in the slot and pull the handle.

I disagree with your idea on how the receiver should work. I think this is one of the things MA did do right. Look at it this way, the detecting device is what you drop. it blows up in a direction and scans the results and transmits that back to the device you’re carrying. the best real life analogy is that probe we sent to intercept a comet. sure, we’re 1000’s of miles away, but the data doesn’t change. it’s just transmitted to wherever.
But theres an age old debate about “realism” in games. The problem is we play games as an escape from reality. so how much realism do we really want. I do like the real world economy ideas, but to try and make every little detail just like real life would probably encourage me not to play a game.
Just my thoughts,
Galentin
Well you can disagree all you want, but in reality it works the way I explained. Below is a link to some of that info if your interested.

doesn’t really tell ya much of anything about the equipment used for waveform detection. but the bottom line is it could easily be detected at any point and then transmitted to a handheld device.
