[Beta] Ads in off-topic forum

You may have noticed i have placed advertisement in the off-topic forum.

This is a “Beta” phase, no ads will be shown outside off-topic.
I’m testing it at the moment, hope you dont mind looking at those adverts when in off-topic.

I will make it so donators of these forum (paypal button on frontpage :wink: ) will NOT see the ads. (Not done yet, coming very soon)

Let’s see how it goes, hope you dont get too mad about it. :frowning:
I have just upgraded the server ($$) so if it’s possible with a little help that would be awesome :slight_smile:

Let me know how you like it (or not like it).

It’s Google, I love it. Their ads are so creepy and a great conversation peice, lol

Can you put a moneybookers icon there also ? Not all people have paypal allowed in their countries , some like moneybookers a lot more than paypal…

I don’t mind this at all! And you did it very nicely, putting it at top of off-topic and we get to choose to click it or not :girl:
But yes, some of those btw are quite funny

Ppl dont need a paypal account, the paypal button works for creditcards too, i have a premier verified paypal account so i can accept creditcards too :slight_smile:

I mean exactly that :laugh: I like how you put them at the top of off-topic forum and threads and we get to choose… would be different to some ppl if they were pop-ups, but you did it quite nicely… me likes! no worries! :girl:

I like it MB…I love seeing what google thinks is appropriate for those things…I use the adwords stuff for my business…maybe one day I’ll see one of my own ads in there…

That is…if we ever start talking about Music lessons in Houston in off topic lol.

It’s really picking up on the “trade mark” text at the bottom of every page. :frowning:
I hope there’s a way to filter that or something.

Also.. if it makes you money count me in as a frequent clicker too!
I don’t think I’ve ever liked a site/forum so much to want to click the ads.. yay for Mindbuster for making the best damn site ever! :smiley:

One thing though, dont click multiple times, that wouldnt help at all, just occasionally if you see something interesting.

I have now changed the text in the footer, the trademark and copyright stuff to a graphical gif, but it seems we have to wait for google to spider the site again before it changes in the ads :confused:

Yea, id like that too, but wouldnt be too good, would offend too many :wink:

I think adds are a good source of revenue as we cant exspect you to pay for it all and donations are rather unreliable
