Bad Loots (not a whinnie thread)

Bad Loots & Tactics (not a whinnie thread)

Hi, I had a couple of days (scarecrow hunt) of an extremely bad loots killing drones and warriors - like under 30% return.

I do not think that i have ineffisient armor/weapon setup or low skills (5k aim - 3.4 rifle etc., etc) - just 70% of mobs had no loot and the rest 2-3peds 11tops

so the question is - does everyone that hunted those W from Troy had similar loot or just me?

cause:

 1. everyone has similar loot there (during scarecrow period)

“just the way it is with this quest (scarecrow) so keep hunting and hope for needed item or hof”

 1. just me who is the s..r

go hunt some cheaper mobs (skill gain at lower cost) until the trend changes…

This is not a whinnie post, just trying to figure out the tactics and would like to see ideas and/or methods ppl use to determine if they should switch the hunting goal aka loots or skills or whatever else…

who feels like flame for a “bad loot post” please dont bother go to a whining thread instead :dunce:

Bad Loot Tactics/Solutions.
I will try to update it on timely basis, collecting tips from this and other threads. So if you feel like you are getting an exceptionally bad loot try this “technical” thingies:

 1. Relog
 2. Switch Servers (go hunt somewhere else)
 3. When you have an entire day of extremely poor loots - stay out of PE for a week. By that time every other player has paid for the quest, and you can either come back and try to scoop the prize, or carry on as normal, with your normal decent loots.
 4. …

also we need a definition of a Bad Loot (give it a shot) - if you hunted for 20 min and got squat thats normal… if you killed 20+ no looters in a raw - thats odd… if —(give it a shot)— thats Bad Loot.

“just the way it is with this quest (scarecrow) so keep hunting and hope for needed item or hof”

Id opt with this option.

Yall gotta remember…the next loot you woulda got, b4 you quit the hunt, could make the diff between loss/gain. :wise:

did you participated in this drone-quest?

when we had trox quests loots were good for most of the players, including me.

there was another thread, forget which one, in which i posed a few of the many reasons that you will never make money on the scarecrow hunts… if i were you, id simply switch down to something your size… or if that is, id lay off hunting the robot crowd…
you know damn well that MA will have lowered the loot quantities on robots while so many people are hunting them…

It was my first scarecrow thingie/event ,when i read it i went all drones(gen1,2,3)…i lost big time too..

Dunno… next time i ll just do my thing and ignore the events …

Ciao a tutti..

I lost big time on all bots up to and including drone 9 and warrior 5.
I spent most of my time hunting them for the week before scarecrow was announced and i lost a 3 digit dollar amount.

Every story has a funny ending though - I got cocky in my salamander and 6a’s and went up to a warlock not remembering it didn’t do laser damage :dunce:

if you would have read my reply just above your post

would’t this statement look odd:

I was making money during trox-item event!

What is my size? (5k aim 3.5rifle etc. etc.)

On the other note - did you hunt drones this event?

i am trying to put together a “technical” steps if one has a bad loot, something like - do this, do that and if it does not help then blame it on the bad luck :dunce: or go skill untill the tide changes.

Fresco, if some1 knew real dependable tactics, they would be uber rich by now and most of us would have followed suit and MA would probably be very poor
The thing with hunting as I see it… sure skills help so that you do not lose a lot of ped each time you go out, sure equipment helps you to fight those mobs better, and luck certainly plays a role.

But your basic question is one of looting in general…and No1 has the answer to your question m8. In the past, certain ppl believed they had figured out the solution to getting good loot at X time in Y coords (and perhaps they had), but this game is ever evolving. If you happened to have poor loot at those coords on that particular day, perhaps the guy hunting right around the corner from you had one or two excellent loots that put him ahead. Or perhaps his loots were just like yours… :wise:

So… long story short… if any1 of us knew the answer to question we probably would all be rich ourselves and not even be reading this forum for advice  Sure you can ask… “hey all, who was at x,y coords at such and such a time on such date” to see what their loots were like… but remember that even if you find one person who was there with you, there were probably others that you will never track down  And there are even more that would rather look you in the eye and laugh b4 they devulged their luck :silly2:

Hi Svetlana,

I am not asking/looking for a way to fool MA. Or looking for a way to hof on every mob :wise:

I am simply collecting data. For example if you logged in and all of a sudden get double the dm from the mob despite the armor - relog and everything is back to normal… imagine a slot machine that takes your coins but does not spin - here it is a bit less obvious but similar nevertheless.

(On a side note - a professional poker player wins enough to make a living, how? there is a system, quite simple though - reduce the amount of mistakes you make and keep a "poker face :broke:

So Svetlana - if you have an exceptionaly bad loots what do you do?
Keep shooting away without sleep untill it gets better?)

The problem with comparing PE to a slot machine or Poker is that the rules for those never change. Poker is poker a Royal Flush still beats 4 aces etc… With PE, the rules change every month. What worked for you before won’t work now beacuse they changed item X. Sure, poker players have systems. You can come up with a system for game that never changes. Once you think you got things figured out in PE…MA yanks the carpet out from under you. I think that’s sort of what Svetlana was trying to say…

well some slots have cherries some cowboys some wheel of fortune and stuff the comperasent is based on - you put money in and you can take money out situation. In fact a completely random system is impossible mathematically (hoping there are no real mathematicians around). Anyway we seem to be missing the point, i am not looking for the way to “crack the system” just simple addition to the fun of my game - game tactics that i can ignore if i want to (if someone else finds it useful even better). Yes MA “takes carpet from under you”, most likely they have a program that does it while Marco sleeps by itself…

I understood completely what Svetlana said, unfortunately that was irrelevant to the original question posted.

I think tactics and understanding loot thoeries are one and the same. So regretfully I do not understand your question fresco :frowning:
Best tactics would be to have high skills, good corresponding equipment for what you hunt, and having fun

Sorry Svetlana i do not mean to upset you.
I agree the question are so simple that it sounds like there should be something else that is asked, mostly due to it’s “touchy subject”. This is why i adde that it is not a whinnie thread.

Better skills are better skills but with better skills you still get bad loots and it is quite the same for all and untill MA introduces “Looting Skill” they only affect the size of the mob you can kill or so they say (MA).

To make question clearer.

If you have bad loots, what do you do?

Did you hunt drones during scarecrow (April 22-28), if yes did you notice any difference bad/good in loots for you?

the questions are “technical” not empirical

yes i know… i was responding to the first statement, not second…
and you obviously havent considered the possibility that since so many people made a profit off trox event, MA lost enough money that theyd want to guarantee that didnt happen again… and significantly lower the profit margin.
On the other note - did you hunt drones this event?

and yes, i did. and what i found was not varying from what i said.

a little update
Here’s a tip boys and girls… When you have an entire day of extremely poor loots - stay out of PE for a week. By that time every other player has paid for the quest, and you can either come back and try to scoop the prize, or carry on as normal, with your normal decent loots

I think that is a very big assumption especially since we have only seen one other event such as this. I really doubt MA ia running so close the the belt they have to reduce loot for a few days to have the money to pay for an uber item.

I think it has more to do with the general ebb and flow of PE. There are periods for people where loots are good and periods where they are bad. Without knowing how the loot system works it is pretty hard to come up with any real explainations.

I say just try to enjoy the game. If loot is bad do something else, like, play tag

i agree, nevertheless i just want to put here everything that adresses “bad loots - try this” kinda thing :dunce:

With atrox event, it seemed like the loots were okay…On the Atrox Olds mostly, but on the stalkers etc that we managed to kill, the loots were just stupid (less than 2 ped).

With the bot event, I killed some bots, but never got anything substantial. (max 3 ped and a ton of no loots - big loss)

Now with the Thori… event - I can’t actually kill one of those on my own… So I am not taking part, but it seems like the rest of the loots are terrible.

My thought is that the next “uber” unique item is going to have a TT of 50k PED at least… maybe 100k even, and MA is saving up for it…
