This likely has been brought up before (sorry if repeat)…
I think the time has come for MA to add auction access to the client loader interface, so that players can buy and sell items when the servers are down, or when we are away from our PE computer (work, vacation).
As I sit here today unable to run the FTP update (not 100% sure its MA’s problem, and not on mine end, but pretty sure) it seems clear that the MA economy in general is much less dynamic (and realistic) than it could be because if you can’t log into the game itself, you are out of luck participating in the auction. Because the $$ value of some auction items are so high, this presents a substantial risk for buyers involved in active auction bids.
It doesnt seem risky to me to have MA add this feature next to “My Support” and “My Items”. We still have to log in to the top part of the CL to submit support cases, so only registered PE players would be able to buy and sell, but we would be able to do it anywhere (ok, middle of gobi dessert would be tough), and the power of the auction would grow as sellers would know tons more people would have the opportunity to buy their goods.
What is the downside to this idea? There must be some that I cant think of.
Indeed, this subject has been discussed many times before and i recall that Marco has always answered that the auction will remain ingame.
This is understandable since some ppl are logging in only to check the auction. So, if you give them the means to do that w/o login in, MA just loose some players and win some lurkers trading like mad with a website…

I like this idea, this system seem to be pretty good, imagine, their is a Mod Fap for 1 ped start(crazy idea), someone bid for 40k and this auction finish when server are down, none can bid on, and the seller lost alot of peds…
That’s why an auction access Via web should be good

The answer to this problem was to delay the auction while the servers are down
I’m not really against this idea… But well, i’d prefer to see the dev team being focused on ingame development than on a website that won’t really improve my gameplay and my fun

Yea Marco said auction will NEVER go outside of PE. Esesially becasue then you would have some reselling jerks that would be on all day at home and work buying and reselling and not IN PE.
Since “Project Entropia is not a “game”” (as they say in EULA) but is a servece, I think a web site where you can bid on auction, will be a good adition to that service.
We all use that service for what ever suits us best. Some for fun, some for money, some for chat…
Let all have the chance to have the bestcontrol over the aspect they are interested in. Is only fair…

How about if web access to auction allowed you to ONLY increase bids. If you want to put something in auction or collect it you must be in game to do it, would that not cancel some of the trouble with resellers?
I must admit I get a little cheesed off sometimes if I lose an auction purely because I’m at that horrible place called work and not where I really want to be :whistle:
