Attention Landowners!!

I’ve been here close to a year now and my skills are pretty good. I have a few of the TP’s and need to get more to participate in hunting and mining at the LG areas. Since many of you advertise your areas in the forums, I decided to try getting the rest of the TP’s. Well, I’m sorry to report I got stuck in the dunghole south of LG15 and could not get out, tried all afternoon and gave up. I just send a request to support and asked to be moved. Please dont tell me about asking for help to get out, I’m fully aware of my options. But the whole thing got me thinking about all you land owners, to whose atvantage is it that this practice of running for TP’s is eliminated on Amethera.

If all the TP’s were available instantly we the players could go to any LG area and spend our time hunting or mining, and then the owners that advertise can get their just rewards. Also getting stuck in those dungholes without access to ammo, repairs, etc is the hight of stupidity on MA’s part, cause it serves no purpose, and just discourages people from participating in that area. I for one not going to try it again, I got better things to do with my time then to spend half of my afternoon trying to get to all the TP’s, and getting stuck in Hotel California.

Think about it, its in your interest.

You should join IRC and someone there would be up for a bit of action and help. I usually do when I am bored.

I have a cool route to all the TPs without dying or worrying about the mobs. I will try to make a cool map for the n00bs to use.

Next time join IRC and ask. I would have been bored this afternoon and would ahve helped :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, Von, I can see your point and to some extent agree.
However, I also think a little in the direction of “be prepared”..
Running out of ammo suck bigtime. Been there, done that, but didnt even loot a t-shirt. A good thing to do is to bring along a TP chip and some ME. It doesnt matter if you cant use the chip accurately as long as it get you out of the area youre stuck in.
When it comes to getting stuck serving a purpose for MA?
The only possible purpose would be to make people want to get revenge and skill/buy equipment to do so, but i doubt there is any actuall effect in that manner, I think its rather just making people pissed off.
But one thing is for sure.. There should be more shops/shopkeepers on amathera so that people can atleast buy more ammo when they are out, cause one thing of which there is no doubt is that if we cant BUY ammo, we cant WASTE IT either.

Where is the thrill of exploration in that?
Part of the experience in PE is getting out there and vising places you’ve never seen before :slight_smile:
The TP gathering exercise facilitates that and whilst it’s not always extremely exciting and there are situations where you can run into some big problems overall it’s more fun, IMO, then simply being given the TP’s.

It also encourages those who own land to provide escort services and/or information and directions.
For my part, with TI, I’ve made sure there are passageways from the main TI teleporter both towards the south and SW to TI City, and for the time being there is also an easy path to the new NE teleporter, though in the future the safe corridor will shrink as mobs take over the area.

Also before you say “but having the only TP everyone initially gets on the continent benefits your tax income” I would like to point out that you can leave TI, on foot, without ever firing a shot and I intend to keep it that way.
Forcing people to fight their way out only annoys them…

Well a lot of landowners put up ammo shops in their sheds. This is not possible for soc-owned land claimed in landgrab though and I’m sure shops run out from time to time :confused:
Repair would be nice of course and it would also be cool if players could setup services with, for example, portable terminals.

Do remember that previously you used to revive back at the teleporter beacons, with full services.
Since people seemed to prefer to revive inside land areas to save them running all the way back this was changed.
It’s not exactly perfect right now though I expect MindArk has plans to smooth out problems in the future.

Aw, you’re missing out on a lot of pretty cool hunting and mining zones!

I suggest once you get free to perhaps round up a few socmates or friends and have a team TP-gathering exercise.
It’s a lot more fun (and in this case less frustrating) then doing it solo at least :wink:

getting tp is easy…got all 45 of them with a brand new avatar for a friend of mine who just started and that without any problem.

Avoid mobs maybe? :wink:

yup, same thing i did. called in atami from shoalin to help me out, however i already had her on FL so no need for me to join IRC.

that is one reason i always keep an active highskilled/equiped person on my FL, or possibly more!

im with deathifier on this i think an important part of PE is exploring the world and finding out that you kinda suck outthere on your own i do agreee theres some nasty pittfalls outthere but as jove says that encourage you to find people to hang with and seeks help and guidance with the veterans

Gettign the TPS is part of exploration. it helps you to learn your way around and know whats around.

I also agree with tigerman a TP chip is invauluable it wil make the job of exploration MUCH easier and helps to prevent you getting stuck

It is reletively inexpensive to get a lesser TP chip an cheap implant and buy or borrow a focus chip
It doest take much in skilling with a focus chip in order to get an excellent COS with a lesser TP only need about 150-250 levels in psychotrophy and about 80-90 in concentration to get excellent COS
to get that only cost about 1000 in ME skilling with focus chips.
Then you only need to carry 500-1000 Me with you for emergencies so you can TP out of nasty situtions like land areas or remote shop containers

Since landowners depend on traffic from players to pay for their investment. Making the LG areas hard to get to surely isnt in their interest. So my conclusion was that either the areas should have more TP’s, or the TP’s should be available to all who want to go there. I would think its of the landowners economic interest, to make the LG’s available to as many players as possible.

Sorry thats totally my fault. I took for granted taht you had the intelligence to realise that more than jsut you may be interested in a method to help get from a stuck location. I apologise for advertising my assistance to all who visit these forums and may be in the same situation.

I dont want to sound like some sort of highly skilled player or come across as saying that places on Amethera are not for people of a certain caliber BUT many land areas are quite tough for someone alone and not using the right equipment. There are few areas with mobs that do low damage. Gradivores and small atrox are the only land areas I can think of that someone with low skills may be interested. The rest have mobs that do 50+ damage to nemesis or uber mobs like Falx or Thorrifoids.

Land areas are there to make money. Someone who may get stuck is not someone who is most likely to generate any tax income. Forgive me for saying that but its true. I understand that some people want to get the TPs and cities and thats why I was offering help. Many land owners dont care that you got stuck. No one will go hunt a land area becasue that owner would go help someone get unstuck.

And for LA owners making it accessible, I have envery intention in purchasing the shed area around a TP and putting tough atrox there so you must pay me tax on these mobs in order to hunt other areas. Its called capitalism and extortion.

I haven’t yet managed to run out of ammo and get stuck, but I did recently have the pleasure of getting revive killed by a Thorifoid Clan Elder who appeared to have nothing better to do than stand around wafting his wand at me :eek: I’m sure he thought it was amusing :smiley:

And no, I don’t charge my friends for extracting them, it’s all part of the fun and adventure of the game. We are supposed to be feeble little human colonists on a hostile world full of excitement… Remember? :silly2:

Besides, last extraction I did landed a 600+ hof. :wink: Team split 3 ways, but still a good time had by all. And for them they got extracted *and came out 200ped richer. So put *that in your papers and smoke it. :smiley:
