Dont know if anyone has posted anything similar to this yet?

We were talking about this in soc chat today. I want to hear your opinions and experience on the matter.
Some think that what armor you use effects average loots.
Say, if you wear a high decay armor you’ll get bigger average loots but just the same % return (when youve counted in decay) as you would have if you used low decay armor.
From my experience I seem to get around 80% return average after repairs even if I use Paradox. Somehow, when I use it I seem to have higher loots then if I use Rascal. On same type of mobs. Same time of day. Same place.
(Now, Im talking about my favorite area here so I spend alot of time there btw) But when I go back to check my returns the % return is about the same. Obviously some socmates of mine has noticed this too.

Well, i would say yes on that one, when i hunt with Nemesis, i tend to find some really good loots while hunting with pixie i get noticably smaller loots and i get more of those empty ones.
As well MA stated that gear effects skill, maybe it effects loot as well.
To give an old Marco quote;
“Maybe X shots with weapon Y enables the dropping of item Z?”
That might not be the exact words/letters but its accurately quoted..

So perhaps that I was using a MM yesterday made me get the uber? :king:
I have heard the theory that the total TT of all items equipped affects loot. So you should fully repair all items and wear hat, sunglasses, coat, underwear, shirt, pants, armor, shoes, gun, amp, scope, 2 lasers…
The higher the TT that you have equipped the higher your average loot.

Well there was an old theory that certain guns like the MM, IMK2 and maybe to an lesser extent any improved/mod weapons had an hidden code or somthing that did make them HOF / Global more then an regular gun.. but that was just an theory???

It does.. Its called killing a shitload of more mobs than you would with another gun in the same timeframe..
But that dont mean you profit more, cause youll spend a shitload more ammo as well..

I really hope this isn’t true…
But I guess only MA can say for sure.

You mean my original post? then why is it negative?
I mean, if it was so, then those who are wearing lesser decay armor get same return % as those in high decay armor after repairs. Thats just good. Means it wont hurt so damn much economicly to use high decay armors, nothing else really Unless you want people that wear shadow to suffer for their choice of armors I dont see how you can see anything negative in it?

I see something negative in it..
It means hunting with high-end gear wouldnt be less economic than hunting with noob gear. That would be such a bad thing! :tongue2:

Had some clues about that myself…globaled after repairs (armor)…it happed once when repairing a full vigi set and the second time with nemesis…can’t figure out exactly a pattern, but there must be something there…
i notice that after each deposit i make, i go repair all my junk, then go hunt, and get a few small globals, usually 2 or 3, then i literally dont get more than a 40% return on anything i hunt untill i deposit again, and im not making this up.
so now i think i have outsmarted the system, well, once the system reads this, even my luck doin this wont help.
but now i deposit the 10 usd min, repair junk, then deposit 10-20 usd to buy ammo for whatever i am hunting, and keep hunting on it untill i lose it all, then use the materials for crafting whatever i can. then i repeat the whole process all over again, lol. usually its 3 and 4 day cycles, then sometimes i spend a month on the same 100 ped crafting equipment and sitting in pa dancing for hours buying animal hides since no one sells them there anymore.
but i seriously gave up on trying to figure out how the loot works, the only think i know for sure is that it is skill based mostly, and every once in a while, a noob like me gets a 100 pedder.
as for the rest of this month, you can find me in troy and pa hunting berries (less of), exos, and dia, with no armor and a jester d1, cause im trying to make 20 peds last a while.

First of all: Gratz for your uber Skam. That was a really nice one.
But about your original post, I simply hate the idea.
I hate the thought that your choice of equipment doesn’t affect your economy. If you go hunting with the economically worst rifle in the game (Solomate Busho), it should have economic consequenses. If you’re smart/wealthy/lucky enough to get a super efficient weapon (Imp mkII), it should BE an advantage.
For me it really ruins the game a lot to think that MA behind the scenes ‘rewards’ those who use inefficient gear. I don’t care whether it’s expensive or or high-end, I just think it’s wrong that it affects the loot of the mobs you kill.
If MA thinks that for instance usage of Shadow Armor is too expensive and wants to compensate those who use it, MA should improve the stats (lower the decay) of it instead. :cussing: (Dammit)
Well… I hope you get my point at least.
BTW: I also dislike the idea that you get better loots after a deposit (though I like the small globals I often seem to get after deposits… But it’s wrong).
Just a small thought; Generally higher decay on armor means higher protection. Higher protection means you can tank more mobs, kill mobs faster, dont need to spend as much time fappin, and just generally are more effective time wise.
Isnt it possible that hunting time effectivly is what brings larger loots rather than using higher decay armor (/equipment)?
Im not sure what mobs you’ve been testing on and if these mobs do same amount of dmg on paradox as they do on rascal. If so I guess that my thought doesnt apply
I know I generally notice a big difference in loots when hunting f.ex. atroxes in nemesis vs. rascal. I believe its due to me being able to tank 5-15 of them at a time instead of 2-3, thus killing them much faster.
Ive tried using nemesis against allophyls instead of rascal which I usually wear, but there I almost get the opposite effect since Im greedy & dont want to tank too much due to decay.
Maybe its just all in my head though.
BTW: I also dislike the idea that you get better loots after a deposit (though I seem to experience that myself).
Vedder, have you considered that you may be changing your gaming style after a deposit. Personally I believe that the post-deposit-hof-hysteria is more about players being more generous and likely to spend money than any other conspiracy theory. You spend money, you make money. Simple.
