I think it is if you take the tt of the armor and divide it with the durabillity you will get the deacay :wink:

full TT value in peds / durability * 10 = decay in pecs per absorbed hitpoint.

example for a theoretical armor part:
full tt 10.00
durability 2000
15 protection in one field
mob hit of 30 dmg

10 ped value / 2000 durability *10 = 0.05 pec decay (1 dmg)
15 absorbed hitpoints * 0.05pec = 0.75 pec decay on one 30dmg strike.
(you receive 15 dmg. 15 got absorbed.)

Anyway, back to the subject. Orion, are you sure about the formula ? I mean, decay seems to be a tad higher. Tested on my Pioneer “trading” armor (I know I do have weird tastes :laugh: ), full TT 25.00 PED, durability 500, with arm-guards and harness (so that’s 30%+20% = 50% of both full TT and full decay), went to Camp Phoenix and forgot to remove it …

Three hits from Sabakuma Mature, 13 13 15, so two of them absorbed 2 damage and I realized something was wrong :rolleyes:

The decay should be 50% of (25/500 = 0.0510 = 0.502 = 1.00) = 0.50 PEC. Yet, it was around 11 PEC… :scared:

I can’t be sure, but, I think she is saying her Spam was deleted. So, instead of letting it go she decided to write another post of spam, and gave permission to delete that aswell.

To Amour (Armor) Calculations. I beleive, just like the Midevils, that science is not truth. Seriously though, I think it may be time to start looking at some things in a different way. People beleive in these number crunching formulas that are based on nothing more than half truths (as deminstrated above in another posters thread). It is nice to be able to devide and multiply two numbers to get another number, however, I don’t beleive they have any value in this situation.

Call me an old timer, but I beleive the only way to know if an armor works for what you are doing, is to hunt with it.

A prime example is the Bear Armor. Everyone was badmouthing its stats (and still does) based on the generally accepted formula. However, when I use it in actual hunting situations the results are shocking and not nearly what people beleive they should be.

Maybe decay factors into your looting? Who knows. One thing I do know is that testing the items you are interested in results in interesting discoveries.

oh, and yes. the formula is right.

i cant exactly follow your description.
take into account that not the value of the complete set or variety of parts you wear counts, but the single armor part, which gets hit. armor parts get hit by chance with a certain distribution.

orion, where did you get this formula?
and since your so sure on it, where is the evidentiary support? (tables, etc.)
surely, in order to paste this equation all over forums youve tried it on every single piece of armour you can get your hands on, and tried each of them on every form of mob you can find, to see if its correct… hmmm?
