a = b

a^2 = ab

a^2 - b^2 = ab - b^2

(a + b)(a - b) = b(a - b)

a + b = b

a + a = a

2a = a

2 = 1

is funny what u posted, but that rationament sneaks two basic rules of mathematics:

  1. any multiply of 0 would be everytime 0 so (a+b)(a-b)=0=0*anything else.

  2. any number divided by 0 would give infinite, so in (a + b)(a - b) = b(a - b), reducting the egality with a-b would mean dividing to 0, so infinite=infinite

With Algebra:

    10x = 9.999~ 
10x - x = 9.999~ - 0.999~ 
     9x = 9 
      x = 1
