Aim + Anatomy; Targeting Process?

I’ve been wondering recently if the combination of Aim skill and Anatomy skill help with targeting mobs. Like, is shooting a Molisk in the face more effective than shooting it in the foot, or is sliceing at a Feff’s stomach with a Valor more proficient than sliceing at it’s arms? Also, does manual aiming take away from the Anatomy portion of this equation?

… or am I completely out of my mind? :stuck_out_tongue:

Any thoughts/facts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

P.S.; I did a search on Anatomy in this forum. I found a few elussions to the idea that anaotmy does help, but no serious discusion on the subject.

I’ve noticed that when hunting in the 3rd person perspective, damage inflicted on the MOB’s seems to be the same as when in 1st person, and there is no means of telling where your avatar is aiming when in 3rd person, just that the MOB is targeted. I could then make an assumption that the formula for dealing damage and receiving skill merely refers to your avatars skills and whether the mob was targeted or not. This is not a FPS game, so I do not think that ‘aiming’ on certain parts of the anatomy come into the equation. There is an ‘aiming’ skill as well as an ‘anatomy’ one, so the formula can determine how accurate your avatar is, as long as the MOB is targeted.

Now am I completely out of my mind too. :tongue2:

lol @ insane avatars … and thanks for your informative reply

Greetings,

I’d assume aiming on specific body parts wouldn’t make any difference (as Stikker pointed out, PE isn’t an FPS). More than likely the damage is all about stats (skills) which may or may not involve Anatomy.

Only one way to find out though, testing!

Not sure if this helps or makes sense, but . . .

One of the things I’ve been noticing in my Armax runs is, that the dmg amt is different when hitting different anatomy parts while the Armax are not only running toward me, but when they’re on top of me while shooting. I found that shooting on the top of the head or near the neck while close seems to deliver the greatest dmg and perhaps the final blow. It seems to work with Mollies, Foul, and Combibos too, but then it’s a theory, so who knows.

However, I DO notice that there’s a difference in not only the dmg amt, but also when a msg about skill level increasing pops up in the chat area, so perhaps we should take this out and test it. As a result of this realization, I’ve actually been practicing more with the aim in different areas to watch where the most dmg is while they’re running toward me. In doing so, I see that my Marksmanship skill is increasing, as well as aim, anatonmy, and weaponry technology. I’ll use a Marber-Bravo (slow reload) to draw them in because of the range, then use my A&P Series Freedom (good reload/less ammo burn) briefly for range, and then the EWE EP-41 Military (fast reload) for closer range to finally take them out, hopefully before the tougher ones get to me. It’s a strategy that works for me and has given me 7 Globals in as many days this past week, so I’m happy about it.

Speaking of Globals . . . how do I get to change my Global number in this forum, because I’ve had several now since I started posting at this forum. I’m still relatively new here and learning the ropes.

I also don’t know how to do the “rep” thing, so if you could help me out in understanding that too I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
