A few days ago I saw on the news that some people inadvertantly where giving away personal information through file sharing programs because they did not set a specific directory to share files from and as a result they where sharing everything including tax information. So I had that in mind already.
So being bored earlier today I typed in Project Entropia to see if anything else came up which would be interesting. And I was horrified to see that many people who kept their name and password for PE in a text file had it showing up on the program for all to see!
So please, if you have a peer to peer program and have stored your name and pw on a text file, check if you have it set to share only a certain directory. (I just use a folder titled, “my shared folder”). And if you suspect that your pw and account may have been seen by others, change your password ASAP because there is no telling what someone might do if they do get ahold of your acct.
You would be suprised what people share. :rolleyes:
Alot of people actually share there whole C drive on programs where amount shared matters not thinking about how much of a dumb move that is. :laugh:
I’ve seen lots of people sharing config files for macros/bots that login to MMORPG’s which, of course, contain the login info, People sharing installed games where the CD-key is stored, school work and essays.. everything.
Hopefully this thread helps someone though.. It should be common sense to not share anything except the folders you setup for sharing though.

To change your password you now have to logout of the Project Entropia webpage and click “Forgot login/password” you will then be emailed a link allowing you to change your password.

Unless you change your password daily I fail to see how this is a problem?
They have probably made it this way to make it harder for scammers. For instance, if someone is dumb enough to give out his account information to the sender of a fake E-mail like this , at least the scammer wont be able to change the password.
