A few Questions about PE

Hello PE Comm

I was searching for something new and found PE. At First im really Impressed about the Grafiks the Quite Large Ammount of Emotes and the Lots of (Irritating) Skills. But after Reading this Forum i would like to ask you how Expensive Projekt Entropia really is in average ?

It makes me a bit Careful when i read People spending 1000 PED each Day to Hunt something. Others Claim here to set up to 8K PED in their Constructing Skills, getting nothing in return. This Ammount of Cash is far beyond my Limits im willing to Invest into PE.

Its very Acceptable for me to ā€œloseā€ Some Cash while being in PE because they life from it. But my Question is, can you have Real Long Term Fun with Spending about 15$ / Month in PE or wont this being enough ? Playing to reach the Break Even or maybe almost the Break Even would ok for me.

I wont be Stupid Skilling and Leveling all Time im looking too meet Interessting People and do something with them Together without getting Poor while doing this. The less Complainments on this Forum was by Trading/Reselling and correct me if i get the Wrong Image by Mining. I think i will Try this 2 Things out and if someone feel in the Mod to give me some nice Hints he will welcome.

Get playing!

Dont hold back

Create an avat and get online, travel around, meet ppl, chat and most importantly LEARN as you go!

Then start some trading, little sweating…

If you can do the above and stay happy an content then yes you can ā€˜survive’ easily on 15us$ a month :tongue2:

I second everything Kalashi has pointed out :girl:

There are so many things in this game that you will have to find out for yourself… but using this forum and PERC will help you along the way

Mostly, meet many ppl. Have fun. And, um, yea… just that

Welcome and cheers! :beerchug:

My answer to costs of PE is as follows:

The business model MindArk has setup allows you, the player, to decide when and how much you pay. This control entirely resides within your hands. If you loose money it is entirely your fault. Therefore I wouldn’t risk any money in PE that you’re unwilling to loose.

Treat PE’s deposit as a monthy fee with other MMORPG’s. Your welcome to play, chat, explore, and do boreing tasks to earn money without ever depositing. Your welcome to deposit $10 Million USD a month. Its entirely up to you.

The game is designed so that the vast majority of people loose money from Hunting, Mining and Crafting. This is for the purpose of large bonus payouts given at random to players. Without people looseing money can’t be acruued to payout in large payouts. Likewise without risking your money you don’t have a chance of getting such a large payout.

I recommend depositing $10-20 to start. And then carefully reading the forums about tradeing and efficent skilling/hunting. Find what in PE makes you happy and is fun for you. Learn to do it in moderation to accomodate the amount of money you have available to spend. Expect to deposit on a regular basis, weekly/monthly.

Don’t deposit more then your willing to loose.

PE is free to download, free to play, but your expereince will greatly differ if you have deposited. Getting money without depositing is… not exactly fun for most people. Therefore I recommend a minimal deposit when you start.

Find a good society with friends in it, or make some friends and create your own society. Playing with friends makes PE more enjoyable.

Remember, your success in PE is dependent on your ability to moderate yourself. Many people have lost small fortiunes in PE, and are quite angry because of it. They blame everyone but themselves, but in reality it was entirely their fault for risking that money.

If you have a severely addictive personality and have the ability to deposit alot of money (credit cards), I would highly recommend you find another game. PE could… make you go broke.

Listen, Learn, Follow :wise:
I agree

I played for the first two months on $30. Now that I have more involved and have the money to put in, I deposit $20 every two weeks.

There are people who don’t deposit at all - and some of them have done quite well. It just takes longer to get things really moving.

You can earn money by sweating and selling the sweat, and by selling your services as a runner for hunters or hunting parties. Or you can deposit and get off to a good start. $20 initially will get you moving - it should be enough for Goblin armor, some axes and/or a Jester D1 and ammo, and still give you enough reserve to cover decay. Or, you could get mining supplies and get into mining.

hey again Fiona!

its great you found this forum (its the best, damn it).

i can only back up what everyone else has said, the amount of money you put in and the amount of fun you get out are entirely up to you. and the two don’t necessarily go hand in hand.

what is truly key, is that you do what ever you do efficiently. if you decide to hunt (which i don’t think you will ;)) use weapons and armor that are appropriate for someone starting out.

if you craft, start small and skill. same for tailoring. don’t jump in to high level activities when you are not a high level player!

just deposit and spend what you want, and have fun, fun, fun in game.

some of the posts about losing money and getting nothing in return are a little lopsided, i think. i don’t always get a good return on my investment, but i have fun doing it.

welcome to PE and EF, and good luck at whatever you decide to do!

Good point.

Look at it this way - let’s say you deposit $20/month.

Now, if you went to the movies, how many hours of entertainment would you get for $20?

How much if you rented videos?

And how much playing PE?

OK - so NetFlix would probably work out about the same…

Read the toturials, listen to raeky  and most of all; dont worry too much. Worrying will take the fun out the game, but beeing careful is something else.
Dont use guns you cant handle and so on, its not efficent for you.

Whatever profession you want to join in: try to find a toturial about it. There’s alot of them on EP-forum ( www.entropia-pioneers.com ). What to skill on for best return, What to skill with e.t.c.

Its like Shade here says, what I always explains to people who sees depositing as ā€œstupidā€: PE is a Hobby like any other hobby. Some choose to spend money on filmrolls for photographing, I use them on ammocells and coff clothing.
Depositing makes the game go faster then if you dont deposit, to say it like that.

At First Thanks for the nice Replys. After a few Days of Staying in PE i got a mainly Positive Impression of the Game and the People out there. Of Course a few People in Shiny Armors seem to think the Value of a Person depends on his Equipment/Skills allowing them threat Newcommers like dust but most Time i got positive and Friendly Response to my Questions.

PE seems to be a Mix about mainly Gambling, Econimical Behavior who needs Exact Preperations bevore Fighting a Special Animal to Minimize Costs for Example and Chilling around meeting Player all over the World.

I got a little Impression what you able to be in PE when developed your Skills. I was curious about the often Metioned Oil Rig and tryed to beat my Luck. I enterd PvP2 everywhere Crashed Tanks Ships and Death Robots and finally Managed to find the Rig. I saw Someone Hunting Atrox using Fire Mindforce other People seemd to ā€œWarpā€ away (Had pretty Mutch of the Hyperspace Entering from Enterprice hehe) and Everywhere People was Fighting Each other. 2 People decided to Kille Everyone but me with Samurai Swords  I Enjoyed the Fightings around me Hoping a little Oil Can appearing but in the End after a Lot of Fighting the both died and i got Shoot by Someone replacing me with his own Newbie.

Just a Few Questions left

For what are the Ingame Excange Terminals Tought ? They not Active but i would like to know what they meant for when Implemented.

I read the most Most Tutorials i could Find about Mining and thinking about Developing my Skills in that Direction. But it seems bevore i can Mining i have to Improve my Figthing Skills a little not get killed by every Mob all Time. If someone Care about shaing their Mining Expirience with me let me know and Meet In PE

The Mindforce Thing impressed me most. Even when this would maybe too Expensive for me i would Like to learn more about it and whats Possible. Any Good Tutorials for this around anywhere ?

Hey Silo we meet allready in PE right ?

Sounds like a great/fun start.

The Exchange used to sell shares of a few ingame companies, like a stock exchange. They have for a long time been inactive. There is talk they will one day be used again but noone knows when.

As for mining, I would say you can start mining right away. You need to pick your spots wiselt though, as you say, some spots are rather hazerdous.

Gratz on your good start and welcome!

As far as I understand, it’s a leftover from a past version that they may re-implement in the future.

Can’t help much with the mining - I’m just getting started myself. But as for hunting, work on getting Pixie or Goblin (IMO Goblin is better) and a weapon, and try hunting Exarosaur/Combibo SE of Atlantis, or Snables either between Phoenix & Billys or east of Argus. I believe there are some Daikiba North of Atlantis, too. Relatively easy mobs with fairly decent loots, and good for skilling. Get a FAP-5 if you can - you can heal up a bit and skill your healing at the same time.

I’ve heard that your concentration skills play a vital factor in mindforce, and that sweating is a good way to build those skills.

GL with your gaming. Say ā€œhiā€ if you see me in game. I’m running around either as ā€œShadeā€ or ā€œJohn Galtā€, with the Galt Group soc.
